Root KaosFroyo v38 is out

Flashed v38. Now I cannot seem to move my apps to sd card. Not sure if I am missing a step or doing something wrong. But it's driving me buggy. Googling like mad to try and find a solution.

When I went from v37 to v38, I did the following:
1.)Download v38 and put it in the root directory of my SD card
2.)Flashed ClockworkMod Recovery
3.)Rebooted into Recovery
4.)Performed Nandroid Backup
5.)Wipe Data Factory Reset
6.)Install Zip from SD Card (KaosFroyo v38)
7.)Apply Zip
8.) Rebooted
9.) menu>settings>CyanogenMod settings>application settings>allow application moving
10.)menu>settings>applications>manage applications>downloaded

From here I tried to move apps to the sd card without success. They were not system apps or widgets. And I was able to do this with v37 w/o any issues. So I am uncertain why I get a "Failed to Move Application" error for every app. I tried rebooting and then tried step #10 again w/o success. Stumped. Not sure if I missed something or this is a v38 issue.

You didn't do a dalvic wipe?
 
Could anyone send me a working link to the new Kernal V6, I've googled as much as I know to and everylink I find seems to be down. I just updated to KaosFroyo v38 after delvik wipe and full wipe now the phone is constantly hot, with setcpu underclocked, overclocked, or default, and my battery is about 2 hours with 3g off, bluetooth off, wifi off, and GPS off, I had v36 with battery life for two days.

I like to back up my pictures, music, and ringtones and format the SD card every 3rd or 4th wipe, just for housekeeping purposes

I'm scared to format my sd card for fear that I'd screw it up somehow. I'm new to all of this techy stuff. :)
 
I've done a factory data reset and dalvic wipe and am re-flashing my ROM. I also accidentally wiped the battery stats and my phone was not fully charged. Am I going to have a big problem? YIKES!

No, you'll be fine. I would drain the battery until the phone dies, then plug it in, boot into recovery, and wipe battery stats again, then reboot and let the phone charge up to 100%.

This is the kernel that apparently fixes the battery drain issue with v38.

I would be very careful / not do this at all. I did this once with my last Eris without a problem but the second time I did it I pretty much bricked it. It would just freeze on the skateboard screen

That's strange... i've done this at least a few times without any incident.

I'd be willing to bet real money the freeze and wiping the stats had nothing to do with one another. Wiping the battery stats does just, and only, that - resets what the phone "sees" as what percentage of charge is left on the battery

True, I think it was more the way I drained the battery that was the problem. I had like 9% left and it was taking so long to drain so I turned on everything, 3g wifi gps blue tooth and was streaming Pandora when the battery drained to zero and shut down the phone. Then I charged it to green then when I turned it on.... Frozen at the skateboard screen.... had to take it back and get another refurb

no, that wouldn't cause your phone to brick. in fact I run the phone all the time with all of those things turned on. that said I've never seen an eris brick before. nothing that i've done personally hasn't been able to be fixed with a battery pull

It wasn't completely bricked since I could access hboot but even from hboot all I could get it to do was reboot to skateboard screen where it would again freeze

greatly improved but still pretty atrocious compred to xtr. also, whats the deal with auto display brightness on this rom? display is taking up 80% of my battery...
 
After running v38 for a day, battery life seems okay. Camera is okay, still not terrific - still prefer to use Camera360 however. Installing the CFSv6 Kernel has helped QUITE a bit. Overall, I haven't noticed any bigtime buggy issues. Everything is running well.

UPDATE: This afternoon v38 got really laggy. Decided to flash Nonsensikal 10.8.1 to see if it is any better.
 
Just flashed v38 and the CFSv6 kernel.

Getting a FC screen on each bootup. Maybe this is from Launcher Pro and not KaosFroyo?

BTW the move applications is working fine for me.
 
Did I do something wrong? Before I wiped the phone, wiped delvick, and flashed with new ROM, I deleted stats on the phone. Now, my battery doesnt even seem to make it through five hours with little or no activity. The battery just drains like crazy.... did I screw something up?

v38 has a battery drain issue. Flash CFS v6 kernel to fix it.
 
I only have one issue. When in gallery (viewing photos), flipping the phone from horizontal to vertical, or vice versa, the screen is garbled.

Otherwise, seems more spritely than V37. I like how GPS/WiFi/BT/Flashlight are built into the notification bar. I went from 100% to 60% battery rather quickly this morning, but I was using pandora and doing some browsing earlier.

Flashing CFSV6, and that will be that... until they fix Gallery in V39! Don't break anything!
 
I installed Clockwork Recovery when I upgraded my Eris to 2.1. I used it to install KaosFroyo by renaming the file to update.zip. I want to install CFS V6.

Do I just copy the zip file to my SD card, boot into Recovery, and then which option do I choose to install V6?

I had a problem with the Camera doing an FC and rebooted. Now it seems to work without crashing, but perhaps CFS will help that.

I installed SETCPU and it defaults to a value of 245. Is that appropriate or do I need to bump it up?

With 2.1 and initially with Froyo, I was quickly draining the battery and the phone was very warm. I use Advanced Taskiller each time I put the phone on Standby.

I booted into Recovery and chose Open a Zip file from the Recovery menu. It looked like it installed CFS. I rebooted and now the phone stays cool and does not seem to consume as much power at Idle.

I see that SetCPU automatically chooses an upper limit of 745 and a lower limit of 246.

As far as I can tell, everything works. I was unable to find FaceGoo Lite in the Market so I assume that some apps are not available to the Eris even with Froyo and CFS?

look for the "eris market fix" in the market. run it and reboot. you should be good to go after that.
