Hello again,
I have recently rooted my Bionic and have a couple questions. First, I saw a method on another forum that gave a few lines you type into Root Explorer to keep root through system updates on Motorola devices. Here it is:
go to /system/bin/
open in text editor - mount_ext3.sh
add the following lines to the very bottom
chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
chmod 755 /system/app/Superuser.apk
I used R3L3AS3DRoot and 43V3R to root the phone and when I went into Root Explorer, all three lines were there but the last line read:
chmod 4755 /system/app/Superuser.apk
So I deleted the 4 so it matched the above method.
Everything has been working fine and I have root in .893, but I am wondering if I should have done that or left the line as it was. Any suggestions as to if I should keep it as is, or go back and put the 4 back in?
Also, I put the app OTA Root Keeper on my phone. Is this a good way to help keep root on the Bionic? Call me paranoid, but I want to get everything right before ICS (or any other update) is pushed to the phone.
Thanks
