Yes, except I can't seem to find an icon for CM even though it is on my sd card, and I installed it.
how do I open CWM, or where is the activation icon on my phone?

The easiest way of getting into CWM depends on what OS you have on your phone. Are you running the stock ROM, or one that you installed?

IF you have CWM on your phone, and running a stock ROM... in PG's own words;
Press "VOL +- and POWER, press power 3x at LG Reset Screen."

That should take you into Recovery where you can install the zip. BUT - MAKE SURE you have CWM on your phone, or it will do a factory reset... and trust me - and based on what I think you're saying, I don't think you want that.

I just installed it and chose the option to install "root" but not "recovery" since I wasn't sure what that would do.
here's the screen I saw that said "finished!

enjoy!"

I selected number 3, "root and RZ recovery 2.1.4 Esteem (esteem only!)

I tried going into CWM mode but it seem to do nothing.
