I know that mantera and other developers have said that we need a New Kernel for the CM9 Camera and other stuff that are not working on the CM9 to work, but i have to ask is anyone working on the new kernel? I Know i am not a developer or going to be one, but i do know that it takes alot of time and patience to make it.

by the way thank you to all the guys who have made the Triumph what it is now, if it was not for you guys i would have been long gone from Triumph So THANK YOU GUYS AND KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK !!

i've heard that the devs. here are waiting for a dev. by the named tjstyle to post his camera fixes on his kernel and the devs. here are going to try to port it to the triumph. but its not going to be an easy task

The main problem is a lack of source code. With out it, it's mostly a guessing game. How they have been able to do what they have is beyond me.
I'm feeling less and less like a whiner for asking the code. Now that they said they aren't going to do an update.

We have full kernel source. Its not the kernel source that's an issue I don't believe. I think its all to do with tj posting his changes and someone backporting his changes from the 2.6.35 to our 2.6.32.9 kernel. If we didn't have full kernel source then we wouldn't be able to build our kernels like we do.

Now for the rom source, like 90% of the other manufacturers Motorola only released what the had to. See the android kernel is released under the gnu gold license which means of they made any changes to the source they have to post that source, which they did. Some parts of the rom like some of the libraries are also under gnu gold and they released stuff like the webcore, libpng and some Bluetooth stuff. But most of the android rom including all apostle, the framework and other stuff is released under an Apache license which states they can release the source but are not required to. We actually got all the source they were required to publish. And and almost all other phones receive the same treatment. Some get better source like complete git repos packed up for the kernel source. But what Motorola gave us as far of kernel source is perfectly fine!

He is a dev by the name of tjstyle, and he devs for the ideos x6. I have no clue. I have never contacted him, and I haven't worked much with any of his code or the ics code for that matter. Im sure mantera would know much more about the status of the ics camera in detail.

I read somewhere he doesn't even use the source code for the ideos and is working of of a recompiled image.how he got anything to work like that is beyond me.

Damn yeah that seems crazy about all he could change would be in the initram. I know he has kernel source on his github but whether or not that is what he is using is still unknown!

G60 and someone else were talking about it in the Dev thread. They might know.
