Root Kernel flash question

you are the first person i have seen that has said they like sbc kernels... but that is a good way to look at it... i have personally never tried them so i cant really talk.. i have just seen SO MANY bad reviews that i dont even care to try them

really? well check this thread out:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/319636-sbc-no-sbc-kernel.html read novox77. i was the same way until i read his post. plus most people in that thread love sbc. you should at least give them a try. i can't wait for some gingerbread sbc kernels to come out.

wow... novox provided the BEST explanation i have ever seen of the sbc kernels... but im still kinda timid to try it... people have been complaining that it drops much quicker when the charge does get below 100 and that worries me because i think that if i dont like sbc and want to go back to my suv kernel the damage will have already been done and it will drop as fast with that kernel too.... if that makes any sense.. idk im a worrier lol after that explanation though i may try it some time soon lol

it is just your battery that is getting damaged. it is not your phone. lol
Amazon.com: NEW OEM HTC 35H00123-22M FOR Ozone XV6175 Snap S511 Tilt2 Imagio: Cell Phones & Accessories cheap.

for me yeah the initial drop is there, but after that is stabilizes and the overall drop is much less then non sbc kernels. well at least for me that is what i observed.

WHAT?!?! i thought batteries were WAY more expensive than that! thats incredible! have you ordered one from amazon yet? do you know if they work fine or not? i may put in an order for a few of them later this next week and then i will def try out an sbc kernel... ive been wanting an extra battery or two anyway just so i can have some laying around when i dont want my phone on the charger lol thank you very much for that!

nope running the og battery and still going strong. so i do not see the need. plus i think that i linked the wrong battery so here is the htc factory battery:Amazon.com: HTC Standard Battery for HTC EVO 4G: Cell Phones & Accessories. should work fine on your evo since it is factory. check them out and let me know what you think.

Thanx all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am flashed, and after using juice defender and setcpu I have totaled:

13h 15m 50s since unplugged

with 34% batt remaining on an extended 3500mah bat.

Needeless to say, I am one happy camper :)

I have been using SBC kernels since the day I rooted my phone(the second day I owned it) back in October with no issues at all. The exception has been since updating to the new roms as the source code for the kernels was just recently released and there are no SBC kernels as of yet. Fingers crossed that they will be releasing SBC versions soon.

I am using the stock sense rom.
I like the theme I have set up and wanted to keep it.

i understand but man you are missing out on some of these new roms! mik3d is super amazing! it is like having the evo3d without upgrading. try out mikg2.42 as well. just make a nandroid backup of your stock rom and flash away. if you do not like it you can always go back and restore your previous rom.

I have seen some of the themes:

so far this thing is amazing. it is pretty smooth and is very stable as all of mik's roms are. i wish i new how to take a picture of the carousel. this looks good for an alpha.

I just like mine and want to keep it set up how I have it:

Do you know if I can keep my layout with mik3d rom. If so I'm open to a better rom.
I do like that lockscreen. I tried agile lock but hated where it placed the time and date.
Are ther any fully customizable lockscreen apps out there?

nice setup. unfortunately every time you flash a rom you have to start from scratch. you can switch the lockscreen a little bit. go to your homescreen and long press it. select lockscreen and then you have like 5 different ones to pick from and you can choose what apps you want on the lockscreen. pretty neat feature of sense 3.0.

There are lots of lockscreen mods for MikG out there. I haven't tried any on Mik3D, but i read they work.
I have the tool to mod the lock screen, but i can't even finish my Mario theme let alone start lockscreen mods. :(

Which rom is considered to be the most stable with a netarchy kernel, or which rom and kernel package produces a stable platform and UI.
