Root [KERNEL][LG870-fx1s][LOKI] Modded Unsecure Kernel

What is an unsecure kernel, what are it's advantages and why would I want it? It must have been discussed somewhere before, but I searched and didn't find a good explanation. If the answer doesn't fit this thread, feel free to point me at a good discussion of it. Thanks.

It bypasses the locked bootloader and gives the benefits of an unlocked bootloader. So you will be able to remove "any" app from the phone without bricking and also ADB will have root access. ADB is to access your phone from the PC which allows you to read and write to the system along with being able to install apps from PC along with many other things. For more info on ADB and how to use it, you can goolge it.

Nice answer. Thanks.

As an aside, where can I find more info on the /persist filesystem on the F7? Files there seem to persist through a factory reset. I noticed some files in its Lost and Found directory, which usually indicates that there was file system damage at some point. Is it safe to clean those files out? (There are some other interesting files on that filesystem as well.)
Update: I discovered that /persist contains droppings from LG's RCT. Still don't know if its safe to just blow them away.

Hey u guys. Followed a guide and rooted via framaroot gandalf. Got 2nd init recovery working and flashed loki kernel. Theres no boot animation now, normal? And 2nd init rec doesnt work now, how would i flash back to the stock kernel? Nice kernel btw

Nvm i still have boot animation, just not when using 2nd init recovery. Still curiouse as to how i would reflash stock kernel.

You'd have to follow sammyz tutorial on how to use the LG Flash Tool. Its a pain but that's the only way. The 2nd Init Recovery stops working once the Loki Kernel is flashed.

Ah found it nvm, are there any flaws at all with the loki kernel? I dont have a pc so cant go back to stock, am just kinda worried because i dont fully understand.

No flaws... It's just to give you the ability to remove any app on the phone without bricking. It bypasses the bootloader lock.

Great, one last question if you dont mind. Kinda noob. Can i factory data reset with this loki patched kernel. Or would it mess anything up?

Cool, kernels smooth as butter. Uninstalled apps for better ram, is perfect. I thank you for your work on the f7. Cnt wait to see a cwm for it!

Thanks for this kernel GameTheory. Gonna come in real handy when I dig in to remove useless apps which is a lot since it looks like LG dumped all of their carrier specific apps in the f7 system but just disabled them.

No problem bro. ;)

When I have a little time I'll compile a new kernel and add init.d to it so that everyone can do some cool enhancements to any rom with some scripts. I'll write a couple scripts to get everyone started. Also might add a small overclock if anyone is willing to test when the time comes.

Note:
If you're planning on debloating your rom for the users, you can use the kernel in this thread in your rom. I'll make the new one as a separate flashable add-on though.

Thanks man, Already got a couple of my own scripts hanging around;) and yeah i know so when i create the zip to flash my rom i'll have it flash the kernel at the same time. I'll certainly test for overclock Feature and any other goodies you know how to implement. Phone should be in my mailbox by Wednesday.
