Root [KERNEL] MiRaGe - for HTC stock ICS ROM - 3.0.101 - 10222013

I was trying to use wifi tether to change my mac address, but it never seems to change the address.

Maybe I am missing something but I haven't heard about wifi tether used for changing mac address before.

Anyway, to change the mac address, edit /system/etc/calibration, the first line. You can use ES File Explorer for this purpose. The mac address is made of six two-digit hexadecimal numbers separated by colon marks no space. So pay attention to keeping this format in the file.

Thank you I was trying to change the mac address of my access point for my 3ds to connect to it. No matter what I changed it never changed so I figured I would ask here. Thank you for the quick reply.

recently upgraded to LG Optimus G.. now using it on straight talk. i would have to say i miss the Evo V, at least everything worked when i had the Evo. Now 4G sometimes really fast, sometimes nothing at all. network so unstable that can no longer make calls on apps such as Line, Kakao.. videos/picture quality poor comparing to the Evo V... Battery life bad... miss you work

Are those problems happening with the stock ROM? I could actually check the stock kernel to see how it is. Can you specify the exact model?

https://github.com/xstefen/kernel_goghvmu is the only stock kernel i would be flabbergasted for you to perform your wizardry

Let me check the code. I haven't developed a kernel without the device before. But I have just recently did MiRaGe for Galaxy Reverb which has the same kernel for a MSM8655 platform and I could use the SMP stuff from my EVO3D kernel. I can leave the tricky parts alone that require the device. Are you up for testing?

I fixed the 4G issue with another APN. Not stock, i have it rooted and everything already; the process was very easy comparing to bootloader and hboot thing with HTC. Its running on a optimized stock rom called eg8 by MysteryEmotionz and his B18C1 kernel. Poor picture quality seems to be an issue with its 8 megapixel cam. To deal with poor battery life now i use an app called Greenify, it put apps to sleep to save battery. The model is LG-E970, the ATT version.

New issue ..
Today i didn't have a charger with me so phone drained completely. Now it no matter how long i charge it it will not boot right.
This is what it is doing, two kind of behaviors:
1, when it is plugged into an outlet screen remain slightly lit, able to boot into bootloader, able to boot into recovery (once phone turned off itself in recovery..). when trying to boot into android phone hangs on LG loading screen and loading screen disappears as soon as phone is plugged. LED light remain off while plugged in, it should be lit when being charged.
2, when it is plugged into a computer phone seems to boot itself, LG logo flashing on and off quickly seeming like bootloop.
MiRiGi, im not asking you to give me advice on a device you dont own. just felt like sharing my misfortune

Edit 1: Fixed by factory restore

My gawd I would be excited to test. G60, Chairshot, Interloper, Rbheromax, JerryScript, and I have been working on 3.4.x kernel. Got a CM10 working, CM10.2 in progress. Its been a pain in the ass so far. I saw your new repo just now :D My repo is my first kernel I've worked on. Pure stock built with linaro 4.7.3 is all it is so far, amazingness to come. Any device files or anything you need I can get u repos to, send me a pm or join us on irc at #victory-recon @ freenode

I have the updated the MiRaGe kernel with the following changes.

My patches:
- msm_mpdecision: revise sysfs functions and variables
- msm_mpdecision: adjust the hotplug/unplug time thresholds relative to workqueue delay.
- msm_mpdecision: revise the data structures of time and load limits
- cpufreq: interactive: change hispeed_freq with CPUFREQ_GOV_LIMITS
- msm: cpufreq: boost freq of online cpu(s) to max on resume

Plus, several minor updates and sync with Linux 3.0.95

Download link is in the OP as usual. Enjoy!

MiRaGe kernel updated.
- cpufreq: interactive: fix show_target_loads and show_above_hispeed_delay
- workqueue: cond_resched() after processing each work item
- cleanup kernel/network settings to eliminate more unnecessary code
- shooter_u: fix keypad
- unify shooter_u and shooter header files
- Linux 3.0.96 patches
Cheers!

Have you made any changes to the camera functionality with your kernel? Camera seems to capture faster, could be the overclock though.

There are many updates in the kernel, io scheduler, CPU governor, framebuffer, adreno driver, workqueue, rwsem, crypto, just to name a few. Actually, taking a picture, just like many other tasks, benefits from all of these changes.

Sent ya a pm mgr666

Thank you, I just replied.

Everyone, I don't have an activated EVO 3D anymore. I will be using a Nexus 4 instead. But I will keep checking the thread and fix any problems from now on. I am not expecting any problems based on the feedback in the previous months though. MiRaGe is in a very stable and reliable shape that the development had come to a natural end anyway. I had so much fun developing this kernel with your company. Cheers!

We pretty much have the same phone ! mine is the ATT LG Optimus G

Here is my parting gift.

This is the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 ROM I have built using Evervolv source for myself. I have been using it lately with good reliability and battery life. I am sharing it here with the community before leaving for Nexus 4.

Changes from Evervolv are as follows
- MiRaGe JB kernel
- Only English and Spanish languages
- Bluebox security fixes applied
- Koush's Superuser
- Built for Virgin Mobile

Requirements:
- 4ext recovery
- s-off
- hboot 1.50.50 or earlier.

Installation:
- Wipe everything and flash in the recovery
- Gapps is here

3D camera and viewing are not supported. Wimax has not been tested since I don't have it available at our place.

Thanks to Evervolv developers (preludedrew), johnnyslt, agraben, dastin1015, Mazda in addition to the credits in the OP.

Edit: Please apply the JB kernel update available in the OP

Thank you for this. Looking forward to giving it a run this weekend.
I'm sure with all the tweaks you have added it will be a fun ROM.
Are there any things to be aware of regarding MMS, VVM (or anything else for that matter)?

Thanks again for all you have done, and enjoy your next adventure!!

Just graphics of maps is a little glitchy. I am hoping that Google will fix that soon. I don't use VVM, MMS is working.

I'm still S-ON, I've only been flashing updates of the MiRaGe kernel. My only complaints are that the phone reboots too fast and the battery lasts too long ;)

Since I'd like to give this a try do you recommend anyone's guide for getting the phone ready to flash this rom? Thanks! -t
