Root [KERNEL] mOCk kernel v1.7.14 for MIUI (released)

If you're playing a high end game, I'd definitely recommend that you change your governor to Performance before starting the game for best results no matter which kernel that you use.

Basically as far as the games freezing sometimes, I have a feeling that it's the graphics that's causing the slight lag sometimes. I don't see that lag unless I'm playing a graphics intensive HD game. And until we get updated video drivers, nothing's going to change that.

I added the extra gpu ram because I finally hit a game that actually needed it. I started playing Blood and Glory and in MIUI some of the mobs would not render properly and there were lots of graphics issues. After adding the extra gpu ram allocation, it now renders all graphics properly and sometimes, it still lags and is slow but the graphics are great.

That's my biggest problem is the lag or stillness of the games at points. Playing lets golf 3 is a bit laggy I can see a difference from froyo and miui. Just a bit annoying cause I love miui but can't play most of my games with out some lag or freezes. I wish there was a way to improve miuis gpu power but I'm not that yeah savy lol. Thanks for kernel though.

Thank you for this awesome kernel.
I am using this on my Spice Mi410 :)

Have tested this on CacingKalung's MIUI 2.2.3 and elol's Galnet MIUI 2.11.26 mod.
This is the only kernel I know of which supports 2 way call recording on MIUI for the Mi410 variants. For some reason, SD kernel didn't work for me even though it includes the said patch.

However, I still cannot record in AMR format using the Call Recorder app even though MP3 works perfectly.

a kernel update for miui would be amazingggg. since both miui 4.0, and the other updated version aren't looking to be being completed anytime soon D:

May be a dumb question but if I just recently put Miui on phone is this Kernel or the Rom I installed more up to date? In other words should I flash this kernel over the rom?

The original kernel in MIUI does not have as many features as this kernel or Austrie's speeddemon kernel. So if that's what you mean by "up to date", then yes, the standalone kernels are more up to date.

Are kernels somehow flashed differently in Miui than in cm7? I did all of the same steps I normally did and this kernel would get up to the home screen and then after a bit reboot itself. Tried the speed demon kernel and it never got past the splash screen and just froze there. Each time if I went back and reflashed the original miui Ron everything was fine.

Here's the exact steps that I do when flashing kernels:

1. Boot into MIUI and make sure it is working.
2. Reboot into Recovery.
3. Flash the new kernel.
4. Reboot into MIUI again.

I don't bother wiping anything usually.

Got mock kernel to work that way. Thanks. Does doing the wipes etc. Like cm7 cause something weird in miui when flashing?

Not that I know of... But then again, I don't wipe anything when flashing a kernel in cm7 either--unless I run into problems of course.

changelog:
mOCkv1.7.14.zip
A small update to bring this kernel in line with the cm9 kernel.
-Linux version 2.6.32.59
-updated to latest whyzor touchscreen driver
-includes most of Whyzor's kernel updates
-changed default io scheduler to sio
-changed default goveror to interactive
-does NOT use the same kgsl drivers as in the cm9 kernel. They decreased the performance in this GB miui.
