Root [Kernel][OC] JOCK v1.1

One thing ive noticed, i may be wrong, but it sped up my tether speeds via wifi.
I used to do 13down max on my computer, while on my phone i can do 31 down.
But i realized it went up to 25-30mbps down.
Freak of nature or just more muscle to spit out those 1s and 0s idk

I didn't mess with anything that would effect download speeds, but that is one cool side effect lol
 
Any chance of seeing you back on IRC? I did get my Awe to sit on 2GHz. Buggy at times, but it boots and runs on 2GHz with reboots here and there so I'm sure it can be stabilized. Just haven't had time to play around with it.

Yeah I'll try to get on there this weekend. Been a lot of OT at work and my wife and I had a baby in may, so I haven't had much time

Congrats on the little one dude, I'm surprised you have time for much anything else. So on that note, thank you for everything you do to help us out here.:)
 
Finally ready to start learning about kernels. I flashed JOCK1.5 with Philz when I installed SuperROM but was wondering if there is supposed to be a UI with JOCK. I can tweak the cpu and kernel settings with ROM Toolbox Pro (haven't yet, obviously) but wasn't sure. Thanks
 
No . the kernel changes the performance and how the rom runs and that's it. And yeah def try upping the freq. With ROM toolbox obviously you will get a faster phone but less batt I usualyy keep it at 1350. But no visual changes should ever happen.
 
Really responsive since I followed the advice and set it to smartass and noob but it sucks the life out of the battery. lol Guess there IS a cost for everything we do.

Believe it or not - I actually UC mine to 1026Mhz unless theming or playing an intense game. Then I hit 1500

Yeah I may have to do that, I'm not use to burning up so much juice. My battery normally lasts for days and I'm on it all of the time. The difference in performance isn't worth it for just normal, everyday use (abuse) lol

Yeah.. U can also try the profiles section on CPU control/RomToolbox, might be of use
 
I have download and install your kernel but I can't regulate the voltage. I am using Set CPU and voltage control "not at the same time" and I will set 1345 and three hours later it is at 1512mhz. What stock was 1188... I believe ? Is this top out at 1512 for long periods of time good?

I've actually noticed that the kernel likes to work in Smartass V2, not just another gov. So I use CPU Controls in ROM Toolbox Pro and the only thing that let's the voltage settings stay where put is in profile section of CPU Control.. I Use that
