my phone reboots when i use google navigator or metro navigator. I have it set to 748. Can someone help with this. I would also like to download a cool rom with this one. there are a couple out there. which one is easy to install for the noob.

Thanks

love the comment about throwing your phone into a lake if it boot loops. luckily i didnt have to do that :)

Ran my 1st test in performance mode with the CPU set at 748 and got a 1460 score for overall total.

Ran a 2nd test at 787 and scored 1500. Anything higher and my phone reboots >.<

Why flash the same kernel lol. Just get setcpu and start overclocking :P

Is there anyway to pull and maybe make a different kernel OC-able? Such as the kernel in the latest build; Kernel version: 2.6.32.9, lge@android-build #2, Wed Nov 2 04:11:27 KST 2011.

If the source is released then yes. You could probably pull the precompiled kernel from a nand backup but you can't modify it.

I do believe LG does have the stock kernel released it comes wit the optimus m device source as well.

Yeah i'm pretty sure its the same source we've been building from anyway. The only thing they could have changed was the .config file. Some seem to think since 2.2.2 was released there was a kernel update as well.

I got the Droid x for Christmas and flashed it myself and got all excited thinking it was gonna work so I tried to activate it and they told me they wouldn't add the esn -_-
Certain stores will, most won't. I was living in the Detroit Metro area at the time and I had picked up the Droid from Craigslist. The ESN itself was good for Verizon, so I took it to the local MetroPCS dealer.

They didn't want to at first, but I purchased the Ascend for my girlfriend. After that, he was like... Sure.

I have since sold the phone. I moved up towards Flint and MetroPCS's service up here doesn't yet support the Droid. In fact, a lot of users are screwed up here. Metro's service is so bad, user's can't have the Esteem. Stores don't even sell them. We're stuck with the Optimus, or the brand new HTC Wildfire S (Basically, the Optimus with a better camera.) for smartphones.

I'm not sure how it is in Flint butsaginaw now has 4g and the esteem... there network seems to work fine

This kernel has been a God send! I have not had a day without a reboot since I bought the phone. I've had this kernel a whole day and its running flawlessly. I'm so happy, thank you x10000!

I would have to agree. I run a single boot, completely slackware linux which obviously doesn't have IE. I use firefox and Opera and haven't had any issues as well. The sum check should be enough to confirm a good download. I dont know how to do this in windows but in linux just type md5sum filename.zip.

It could have something to do with the encoding of the download or upload through IE... not sure why...but when i tried to Email myself apk files to my phone they would say installing, then say not installed due to an error on every single apk i sent my self..even if i Zipped it first it caused problems.. so I re emailed/sent the files using Text Encoding Unicode UTF-8 option and the files installed just fine after that...but any files i sent in any other text encoding would fail. Im using Apples Mail program on Leopard.
