Root Kernel question

I flashed Koni Elite series 3 and now im looking at kernels. I followed someones link and just got overwhelmed with the choices. can someone explain the different choices and which one is the best for my current ROM.
 
im currently running netarchy 4.3.2 cfs-sbc-havs less and im getting good battery life with it. i know a lot of people arent a fan of the sbc kernals cause they say it can make your battery explode but i havent had any issues yet

Well i kinda dont want to take the risk of my battery exploding lol.
 
ok i read it... how do i know which one too use...and evomattnc what does universal on your kernel mean? and would you recommend it, i am using the same ROM as you
 
its pretty much trial and error. every phone is dif so the kernals react dif. im running the same rom and kernal as evomatt and im having no problems and good battery life

Netarchy makes some kernels that are "universal" meaning they should work on any rom. Theoretically should work on aosp also. Never tried a netarchy on aosp but thats what it means.
 
its fixable. it'll just act weird. id lean toward the cfs kernals no sbc. if you use the same one me and evomatt are running you really shouldnt have a problem. just monitor it for a few days see if its buggy, keep an eye on your battery life and report back.
 
si looked for your kernel on the netarchy page and i didnt see your on there is noUV and UV, go with UV right? and is it a stable or beta?

I tried several kernels on my evo and none works. Currently, I have ziggy471 ztest evo bsf have 041011. I wiped the cache and the davlic before I installed the kernel.

I am not that good in doing scripts so please keep that in mind. Treat me with kid gloves, lol.

What do yo mean by doing scripts? Well, if nothing is working with your phone, I guess just keep trying other kernels. The Kernels and Roms page has a lot of (you guessed it) Kernels. Tiamat is pretty good for aosp (and is highly recommended by many users), buy ymmv.
 
not exactly sure what you mean by "not working"? are you saying that you flashed a bunch of kernels and you are still getting bad battery life? or are you saying that you tried flashing kernels and nothing is happening? can we get a little more info so that we can help you?
