Help Killing native apps

There are some apps like the NASCAR one that I will never need. Is it a problem to kill apps that are pre-installed on the EVO using ATK or one of the file/task manager apps? Any apps I should not kill for stability reasons?

TIA.

Well, I don't see NASCAR running by itself on my EVO, so I don't see how atk would kill it. As far as removing it from your EVO, you can only remove certain apps (including the NASCAR app) if you're rooted.

LancherPro (an alternative to the Sense launcher) lets you hide apps from the app drawer. I don't know about and independent app that will allow the same though.

the problem is that people use task killers...even though users have said plenty of times not to use them....then they see them.

the answer...get rid of atk, let android do what it was designed to do...and delete them from your home screen and or use launcher pro and hid them from your app drawer....you will never know they were there.

task killers were originally designed for one thing...to free up memory on older phones (it started with windows based phones) that have very little internal memory and phones that were running earlier versions of android

if you seriously need to "forceclose" something...do it through "manage applications"

or just root and delete the damn things completely

I need to be able to kill Sprint Navigation. It turns on automatically, and kills my battery.

I know when its on, because the phone gets hot.

have you addressed this issue with a sprint repair center?

to manually kill it stop
menu.settings.applications.manage applications.all.sprint nav. force stop
