KitKat is rolling out now!

Ever since I updated to kit kat several months my camera has been absolutely USELESS! I nearly always get the 'camera not available' after taking a photo or the camera will just freeze and won't let me do anything after taking a pic, I have to press the home key thus not saving my photo, OR.... I press the camera app it and it takes like 5 seconds to respond, then eventually opens the camera to a black screen screen for like 5 seconds too. Recently, the phone has now been dropping WiFi. Unless a new update sorts out the above I'll be binning this piece of garbage.

Of course Sony deny any knowledge of this camera issue since the kit kat update, but Google it and it's everywhere.

EXTREMELY disappointed in this phone, beginning to regret getting it. Seriously thinking of swapping a HTC ONE M7 for it.

What network / country are you on? Are you rooted? Have you had the latest 14.4...update? The camera was always very buggy for me too, until this last update. I would like yourself by the sounds, have to wait several seconds for the camera to open after selecting it, and after having the app open for a while would suddenly get the "Camera has stopped working" message, phone would run hot with it open sometimes etc. However with the latest update, camera opens instantly and haven't had any running problems as yet. Did you have the phone from JB and not have issues with the camera? Have you asked Sony about it in case it is a manufacturer fault? I know there have been lots of people with bugs in the camera and people kept getting certain things fixed with updates where others didn't, I have had problems right through until now.

I am with Vodafone UK, and no I am not rooted. My current build is 14.3.A.0.757, I have read the update isn't through yet in OTA so i'll try plugging my phone into the PC suite.

Yes, I had the phone on Jelly Bean. Had no problems at all with the camera and then once the Kit Kat update comes then the problems begin. My brother has the Xperia Z model and only got his Kit Kat update a few weeks back and is now getting the exact same camera issues.

As I said mate, I spoke to Sony via private chat regarding the camera issue and the deny any knowledge of it, which is obviously BS!!!!!!
