Root Kmod vs Cm7 06242011

Just an observation lookout mobile security will shut down mui music on the Cyan-kmod (sexymod lol) when you start the web browser (stock browser)
 
I was using cm7 build 521 and I was getting a very low ring every once in a while. It sounded like a phone ringing but very low where I could barely tell it was my phone in the first place. This did not happen on the stock rom. I flashed kmod yesterday but did not like the font, and wanted to try PG's version anyway. PG's cm7 seems to be making the very low ringing as well. Has anyone experienced this or is it just my phone. Or is this a common bug with a few of these roms. I like PG's version and the kmod so I might flash back to kmod and see if it rings.

There is nothing in the background that should make it ring, that I can think of but is there an app I might be installing that would cause that other than the rom. Thanks.
 
Is there some confusion as to who made the rom? Author is different than it originally stated on the wiki, also it says hes a douchebag? lol

The author 'cough' of kmod is Dillion aka kentea who was banned from prepaidandroids.net for taking a copy of icarus, renaming and claiming it as his own work. Now with Kmod he did give due credit to isaac, but posed as someone else to get on ppa and make all his claims of he fixed this n that. When in reality all he did was cook up some frameworks, added some apps in either a kitchen or just dropped them in the zip. He didnt compile from src as he claims and he did not fix a thing as he doesnt know how to code jack!!! Then he pulled a stunt in IRC n played dumb like he didnt know what he was doing and got banned again. Then the follow morning came back on ppa with yet another name and begging to be allowed to explain himself n come clean, which he did half assed. His sob story didnt fly and was yet again banned. Then he 'edited' pip's wiki main page issuing a threat that if he wasnt unbanned in 50 minutes he would take PPA down too. Well I reverted the wiki page back to normal, tho he kept trying to edit til pip was able to get online n block/ban him from the wiki, and the PPA site is still there as the lil poser couldn't hack his way out of a wet paper bag.

The reason I am informing you all of the details is you need to know what sort of person he really is, which is a deceiver, poser, rip/kang, and liar.

For those of you running his cooked ROM, I tested it out myself and it seemed ok, was visual purdy, but I def didnt see anything fixed, and I have been told even by him my build is stabler.

Sorry this isnt meant to start any drama just a FYI!!
 
Ah ok, so CM7 is the way to go then. People are douches I guess. So there are no differences in kmod and cm7? its only cosmetic?
 
Dillon also "runs" a ripoff prepaid android site along with a buddy, and they both initially got in hot water while blatantly copying content from PPA for their own site, and not even crediting the original posters or ROM creators, as well as trying to spam advertizement for their site while badmouthing PPA.

About that same time is when the initial Icarus ripoff cooked ROM came about, and Dillon got exposed for that, which didn't in itself earn him a ban, however, his lying and deception did. He immediately rejoined, trying to steal more content, and got caught immediately, banned again.

Now he pulls the same stunt with an account name kentaegrisby68, and after knowledgeable people such as PlayfulGod start asking him about the inconsistencies, he evades the answers and even lied when asked point blank if he was Dillon, so another ban for fraud and lying to staff. Then he immediately creates yet another account (now up to 4 that we can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt as him), pretends for a couple hours to be someone different, then admits who he really is and asks us to let him keep his account, while telling other staff that I (an Admin who would NEVER let this fool back in willingly) said he could stay if he spilled his guts. Yes, you guessed it, banned yet again.

Then begins the fun with wiki episode, during which he deleted everything and posts "DON'T F*** WITH DILLON HARDIN B*TCHES", which only served to cause laughter, as well as the threat on PPA mentioned above. If that's his real name, which he's stated more than once, then he's obviously not bright enough to be a real threat, despite the fact that his IP history shows him constantly either proxying or tethering through his phone to try and hide his real IP. Never mind the fact that a Cricket IP CAN be geolocated to a metropolitan area. :D

Anyway, now that you have all the background, show your support for HONEST DEVELOPERS by ditching Dillon's "ROM" if you're using it, and go to something trustworthy.
 
@Blast, Thanks for posting that. Wiping/reflashing the legit cm7 right now. I had no idea this was from a shady character. Guess thats what I get for not doing the research before flashing away.

Is it possible this guy could implement something into this ripoff ROM that could be potentially dangerous to personal data??

its possible but I dont think he went tat far. He was more out for praise and attention.

i dont think so, mostly he was trying to get credit for someone else hard work.;)
 
So is this the same guy who made that Aquarius thing that was just Icarus with a blue theme lol?

i believe so, saw that on ppa back in Jan/Feb but never tried it, i stuck to what isaac post which was icarus 1.0 and 1.1.;)

You're welcome. I would rather see people use something that was legitimately made, instead of paying unintentional homage to a two-time faker and loser who only rips off hard work for his own gain.

I seriously doubt he has the skill to put any kind of malware into the fake ROM, because he's not knowledgeable enough to compile from source to make his own ROM. Maybe somebody should get him a subscription to 2600 or something.

Basically, he's a minor nuisance, but nowhere near a threat. I doubt he could hack his way out of a wet paper bag with a katana.
