kyocera echo or samsung epic 4g

I'm thinking of switching to sprint and was debating whether or not to get the kyocera echo or samsung epic 4g. I really like the echo but I'm worried about the lack of 4g.

Is there anyone here that's used the echo and can offer an opinion?

There is really no comparison between the two phones honestly. The Echo is a very gimmicky phone, while the EPIC is what I call a top tier Android device. I'm not going to get into deep into the specs of both phone, but I do work for Sprint advanced tech support so I work with these phones every day. And in all honesty man the EVO is the best phone that Sprint has to offer and cost less than the EPIC. Although it doesn't have the keyboard like the EPIC which is about the only thing the EPIC has over the EVO. And really if you just wait a couple weeks the EVO 3D is coming out June 24th, which will obviously blow both phones out of the water. My advice is whatever you just don't get the Echo...I would rather have a Optimus than a Echo.

I agree, personally i wouldn't even consider the Kyocera Echo. I would wait for the Evo 3D or get the Nexus S 4G. In my opinion a stock google device beats all others, since you will always have the latest software.

Also, welcome to the Android Forums. :)

Oh yea I always forget about the Nexus S, definitely a top tier Android too for Sprint..

I really like having a qwerty keyboard so I don't know about the Evo 3d or the Nexus S. What about the Evo Shift 4G? Is it any better than the Epic? Or is the Epic the best qwerty phone available right now?

I want to start by saying I hate Samsung as a company. With that being said the EPIC is a better phone if your speaking about strictly specs but I personaly like the Shift better. I stronger believe that HTC is a far better company than Samsung. The Epic has no syncing software for the computer, the hotspot feature generally works better on the Shift, troubleshooting the Shift is far easier than the EPIC, I think that the AMOLED screen looks like a childrens coloring book...I mean that's just a couple reasons. My response has a lot of personal opinion in it so take it with a grain of salt, as they say. I work with these phones everyday and the Shift is overall just a more stable phone. In all honesty I hardly ever get any calls on the Shift. Granted the Epic has a fast processor, bigger screen, and a better camera I believe but I still have to recommend the Shift.

I have both Evo and Epic. Echo is below both phones in terms of specs, performance, etc. But it is a cool, interesting phone...

welcome to the forum...

HTC over Samsung.. and you have better chance at being satisfied.

wait a few weeks.. get the E3D (evo 3d)

you love physical KB... times are changing.. you need to change with the times.
seriously.... 2 weeks with it.. and you will be a convert.
bigger 4.3 screen, faster processor, multi-touch, no problem!

I'm honestly really happy with my Epic, its a great phone and can do most everything I'd want to do.

Nexus is great if you always want the latest Android OS version. And the EVO 3D is clearly the phone to pick up if you can do without the physical keyboard.

The 3D is a beautiful phone..I never thought I would describe a phone as being beautiful but I must say this is the nicest phone I ever come across. We actually just got the demo phones in today so I got play around with them a little and the 3D is amazing. I personally don't need a phone that powerful but it was fantastic to play around with. Although I must say I'm not keen on the whole 3d pictures and video part of things, its kind of gimmicky to me, but other than that the phone is beastful.
