Help Lagging/Slow Samsung GS3

Oh, geez...missed your post after I posted, sorry.
Well, not sure what Samsung MAP service is---I dont have that but does something sync with your location every so often?
Have you downloaded any new apps and then noticed this battery issue/laggyness/slow texts etc?

I was wondering the same thing about that app. And I can't remember downloading anything recently since the Minion Rush game. And that was months ago. And I just recently remember seeing that map app. And the GPS icon keeps popping up on the top drop down menu. But I keep turning it off. And Yes the phone is very laggy. Text's are as well.. Also it seems as if the buttons I go to hit are no longer where they used to be... I'm constantly miss spelling words or clicking on the wrong icons. I downloaded the GSAM app, tooks screen shots of the current state, and trying to upload them as I type.

I think for a better snapshot of your battery usage, fully charge the phone and use it like normal for a day. Then look at the Gsam app to see what app/process was being used the most etc. :)

I don't know if there is a setting in that app to see the results based on "since screen off" or not.

Ok. I'll continue to try and upload this screen shot. And then I'll do the same thing tomorrow after a full charge tonight and a normal day of use. And post up another screen shot tomorrow night.

Perhaps in the meantime, uninstall any apps you don't need anymore.
When you say your texting is laggy, how do you mean? The sending of the text or receiving of the text? And what messaging app do you use?

The texting of my messaging. Adding photos to a message, sending a new messaging. Backing out of a message to my inbox. I always hit the back button and don't think I hit it so I hit it again and then I'm back at my home screen. I use the standard messaging app that came with the phone.

And I don't really have any apps that I don't use that I could delete. I only have maybe 10 apps that I downloaded. Here's those screen shots of the GSAM battery app

Just gives the usage details. Quick google search seems to be a common thing among these phones and no real answers. Some are relating it to Bluetooth but I've never even used it or turned that on.

Ok... So here it goes. I got screen shots from 4am when I woke up, and what the GSAM app said. I did another at about 12 I believe. And then another around 330 when I got off work.

Here's what juice defender said at 4am as well

Meh, not the worst I've seen, but I have seen better also:).
I would try to disable FB and disable JD and run again for a day.
How old is your device/battery?

I've only had the phone since December of 2012. And these issues have been happening for atleast the last 2-3 months. I changed the fb refresh or what every to NEVER instead of every few hours but that didn't even make a difference.

Install Wakelock Detector too and do a discharge. itl show u in a simple way the background cpu time apps like fb are using

So I've downloaded all these programs and have no idea what I'm looking at. What should I screenshot on Wakelock doctor? Battery is still draining super slow.

Also I've noticed I believe since my update that my free navigator is gone (blue icon with the arrow on it) and I've been noticing that I keep going over my 2gb data plan before the month renews and I don't use anything anymore now that I did when i first got the phone.

Bump. My battery isn't even lasting 10 hrs a day with lightly using it. And the phone is so slowwww. I'm about ready to smash it and get a new one.

Briefly skimming thru the posts here, have you tried to wipe cache from within the stock recovery?
To access that, power down the device. After fully powered down, hold down the home button then the volume up button, then finally the power button. You now should have all 3 held down. When a screen comes on, let go of buttons. That is your recovery screen.
Navigate to clear cache (with the volume up/down buttons) I believe it is and use the power button to select it.
After that is done, select reboot.:)

Yup... Did that a few times and haven't made a lick of a difference lol

Man, I am running out of ideas as far as the slooowwwwness of the phone.

Now, I know this is a last resort, but have you considered a factory reset?
Yes you will lose your apps/data/contacts but there are ways to back that up.

Thats the only thing i could suggest too man. If that fails then claim the warranty. You havent messed around with Developer Options have you?

I have thought of it, but turned to this forum to try any last resorts. I'm that fed up with the slowness and it always having to be plugged into the charger that I want to try a factory reset. I can always redownload apps and All my photos are on my memory stick. And contacts should be saved to my sim, correct?

No, nothing has been changed as far as developer options.

As far as your contacts being saved on your sim....not sure if your device is AT&T...could be but not sure.
Do you have a gmail/google account that is sync'd to your phone? If so, then they are saved in gmail.
