I, personally, don't believe that Spz0 and Requisite0 are the same person, but nice try, lol. They probably were all in cahoots back when Req was a regular in these parts and was testing his work, or maybe Spz hangs out in the chat room that Req and Playful frequent. I talked to Req a few times in there but he kinda fell off the face of the earth. I haven't seen Playful on here in weeks, and last I heard from him Req was still working on CM7 and possibly CM9, but I find that hard to believe. We'll see, I guess.

Although both ginger, Req and myself are 2 separate persons, I assure you.

The work released was a test image he sent me before he went MIA. Since its mostly working, I thought "whatever,, might as well throw it up since Im done with the admire -- give these guys one more thing to work on". I didnt explicitly get his permission, since he's MIA, but Im sure he wouldnt mind or care ftm, and if he did, we'd bitch and cuss each other out until he recompiled the build and fixed the shize he was working on fixing when he sent me that last build. :p

I will not be working on the new admire (I assume you mean the Admire 4G?), although if I could get source and a working nandroid, I may be able to get root, and cwm going. But my time is pretty tied up in my Droid X projects atm, so it would be back-burner material.

I have not been satisfied by the thin veil of crap that you say divides you and Requisite0. So im gonna stick with the Spzquisite0 when i refer to you. Lol
It keeps things easier in my mind and in the little hoven of my thoughts.

What about TWRP for the Admire 4G? Would it be possible? If so, I'm going to read up on some guides to learn how to make stuff from source and dev for the Admire 4G.
 
Playstore force closes every time... I try wiping and even installing older versions still force closing ...any reason why?
 
wipe data/system,wipe cache,wipe,dalvik,
format system,format data,format cache,format sd-ext(do not format
sdcard).reboot to recovery.then flash rom. before you boot up. reboot back to recovery go to mount and storage mount your sd-ext the cache should be already mounted and be on the top of the list.reboot..
 
NOTE

Use Titanium Backup to backup your Google Play Services.apk & Google Play Store.apk - in order to prevent Google Play Store from force closing every single time when launched. (I had issues with Google Play Store, it forced closed every time I launched it). Even though you need titanium backup from the play store, you can download it via Google - Thanks Rampage1 for the tip of restoring data.

so i just tried deleting the boot.img within the rom and replaced it with one from the other cm7 version and the oa rom and it doesnt even flash. the flash process gets as far to Opening update package. . .
E: Cant open /sdcard/(the zips names) (bad)
Installation aborted.


why is it that whenver i try to mod a zip just like that i cant ever get it to flash. ive done the same to themes where id just replace one apk with another themed apk and the installling would always abort. anyways cant anyone report that having a CM& or OA backup and then doing the whole flashing process then going to advance restore and restoring the boot img will work?? can anyone try that for me please?? and seriously how about some pics of the rom those who got it to boot.... ive waited an entire hour after flashing thuis and i only get a blank screen. i wipe everything this rom just wont boot on my admire

tell me how you are doing the swapping. Is it on your phone or on a computer?
 
on my computer, i delete the boot.image and then i drag and drop the other one into the zip, easy as down but thats never worked for me whenever ive tried it in the past. on a bit of a different note CM9 looks pretty sweet on Admire, i just flashed the kang to finally check it out and it actually liked what i saw. i thought it was much more organized than CM7. too bad its sooo buggy lol

just for giggles try and extract the zip file you are working on but do it on your phone with root explorer....replace your pieces of the zip and then using root explorer rezip the file and flash...

a trick that i found is that if you touch a zip file with root explorer and it takes you inside after a second and you see everything in it then you are ok....but if you touch a zip file with root explorer and it takes a second and then you dont see all the files inside...well you have a bad zip..even when it says its however many mbs big it is and all that crap.
it just sounds like your zip files aren't being zipped correctly and thats one of the reasons why you are having flash issues on zips you changed.

EDIT: Honestly guys what looks better from first glance?? CM7 or CM9. I know CM9 a shot into space and trying to track down where it hit from earth but it does look a whole lot better than CM7. It takes awhile to get used to the how to use the touchscreen on CM9 cause it really is like a mouse and at first you are like wtf!! and the screen will turn off because of the flickering. to keep it from turning off you have to keep touching and moving the touchscreen. CM7 has more functionality and in the end thats what I prefer. So i still say CM7 is the way to go for now.

*side note* CM7 pic is from the other version as im still not able to boot the one from this thread

Well they both are just using different launchers and have different wallpapers so you can't really say which one looks better at first glance.
