Root Latest Flytouch 3 Custom and Modded Roms-updated

Hi, I am new to Android as i Just recieved my tablet from china Superpad III

Model number SAWEE10

Android Version 2.3_20110926

Kernel Version 2.6.32.9 gejunjun@semitime-server #5

Build No. FRF85B

Processor ARMv6-compatible processor rev 5 (v6l) 791.34Mhz

it has 1 ethernet, 1 SD slot, 2 USB

Can it be rooted coz I want to install fonts which require root access ? If noone worked with that model? what are the risks of rooting it?

In case, I rooted it..is there a custom rom that works on it with no problems? and a way to backup the already installed rom?

I've tried connecting it with a USB-USB cable..but the computer did not detect anything..nothing

I am still a noob in all of this, Can u help plz?

Hello.
Can you please tell me where i can find bootloader discovery file.
It seems that the only link of firmware where the file is, is not working.
Thanks.

OK...since noone else has answered you -

Your tablet is probably one of the plethora of newly released x220 cpu flytouch 5 variants that have flooded the marketplace, try THIS thread for info.

I don't think anyone has rooted one yet. (but as things are moving quickly I could easily be wrong on that)

Does the sales blurb claim one of the usb ports is OTG? if so then a usb to usb cable should work with the right software but there is more info on the thread given.

The only recognised way to 'backup' the existing firmware is to ask the supplier for a link to the firmware and download it! (It may be possible to dump the firmware from the device but I have never seen any instructions, it may require JTAG hardware)

rooting a device normally just allows access to all of the device, giving you the opportunity to really screw it up! The procedure of rooting can be dangerous too if you use the wrong procedure and/or files.

Here is my spec

It probably is..but you just need to confirm the cpu..is it an x220 or is it a A8 Cortex? I strongly suspect it will be the x220 so I think the link in my previous post is right for your tablet.

I'm pretty sure you will already have flash installed, do you have a youtube app installed? Flash in a browser is very poor and pretty well un-watchable in all the x220 variants. Not sure about flash performance in the A8 Cortex devices.

It's been a little while since I've posted a question, but here goes. :) Slightly off topic though, but perhaps someone can direct me to the right path.

My wife just purchased the following tablet:

Model: M7206 v2.2
Kernel: 2.6.35.7-infotm
Build: GRI40

Does anyone know if there's a custom rom for this tablet yet that I can use to root it for her?

As always, any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Sorry John but you are in the wrong forum, your tablet is a 7" tablet. If you google M7206 forum there are some hits for you to investigate......

When I try to flash this firmware I only get:

!!!! ERROR. Please try again......

What am I doing wrong?

not enough information to help you.
what firmware?
what model number?
what are you doing?
what stage does it fail at?
What have you tried to fix the problem?

etc.

Can i get this in this format:

ramdisk.img
system.img
userdata.img
uimage
zsys.img

Or can it be extracted. If so where would i find a tut.

OK...well that looks like it doesn't like the update files. Re-download them from Tims site. Also download SDFormatter fromHere, format your external tf card with SDFormatter.exe, FAT32. Extract the two update files ON YOUR PC, then copy them to the tf card. use the 'safely remove hardware' tool and then put the tf card in the tablets external slot and then press the reset button on the bottom of the tablet....if that still fails try a different tf card, and a different tf-usb adapter using the same procedure each time.

The Disco model doesn't use the .img format of update files, you need 'firmware2' and 'firmware-discovery'

Ok. I will test this.
Need to find a computer with Windows first.
I use Ubuntu (Linux)

Hi guys, i need your help. I told the father of my girlfriend that I could fix his "fly touch 4"... which has no wifi. It's says 'unable to scan for networks.'
But now I just found out that it isn't a FT but some elcheapo ripp-off. And I have no clue what kind of rom, kernel, driver to use for this. It has the following specifications:

  • Model: Android P1001c
  • Android version:V2.3 2011-11-24 (401112)
  • Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9 root@wanghua -desktop #246
  • Build number: FRF85B
  • ARM Cortex a8
  • Capacitive screen
some extra's:
-it has a simcard slot (or slut...)
-it's one without a rj45

Does anyone of you guys know what this is and what to use to make it run ok?

THX

It is a Flytouch 3 Capacitive and it is not a "fake" or "clone" or "el cheapo ripoff" like you think. Apad.tv is a scam to get you to think their pads are "real" and they are just reselling Flytouch 3s in a new box. Basically I have no clue where to get firmware for this but I have one and am currently looking for something to make the paid apps in the market show up. And also it is probably not a Cortex A8 it is probably an Imap 220.

I have tried to update my firmware with several of the updates out there and not one of them has worked for me. I followed the instuctions they are simple enough, put the files firmware2 and firmware-discovery on my sd card turned on my superpad and nothing. What am I missing.

My pad:
Model Number SAWEE Pad
Firmware version 2.1-update1 V2.3:#3529
Baseband version Unkown
Kernel version 2.6.32.9
Build number ERE27

If anyone can help me I would be very greatful

Hal

This is an issue that I am working on now. If I find a rom and can get it to work I will post It and place Links. That's what we get for ordering these things from China. you get what you pay for.

Thanks to Mutari and Tim. The Tim 6a worked for me but I cannot move any of the applications to the internal SD.

Any advice?
