Root Launcher App uninstall

I have been in the habit recently of using handcent/k9 mail and uninstalling the rom apps for sms and e-mail. I haven't noticed any issues so far. I use go launcher ex and CM7. I've been thinking of uninstalling ADW Launcher but would that cause issues.
I suppose a nandroid and trying would be in order.

Anyone have any input on this?

I uninstalled adw and didnt have any problems. I'm surprised you got away with deleting the stock messaging app though. I always figured the aftermarket sms/mail apps borrowed off the backbone of the stock messaging/mail apps. Guess not.
