LauncherPro Beta

It should only take you to "leap" mode if you hit the Home button twice. At least that's how it works for me.

Just moved to a screen to the left of home and pressed home, leap popped up right away. Are you getting this confused with Sense? Or does your launcher pro go to home first then leap?

No, it takes it to leap mode for me also. If I scroll left a screen or 2, and then hit home, it goes to "leap" instead of home. No big deal though, its a BETA. A lot of ppl seem to forget what a BETA even means. It'll all get worked out. Regardless, this is the best home replacement on the market. Hands down.

TV1.4+JIT+806mhz+launcherpro = 5.5mflops :)

Can't wait to try the OpenGl2 patch. Heard somewhere it makes it even faster. Woot Woot

I'd also like to have the option to have it rotate landscape. Such a basic thing, but only Helix has it. I'm sure everyone has their preference, but that's mine.

I just downloaded this today, so it's possible that they released an update since you posted this yesterday.... because there is an option to rotate to landscape in LauncherPro now

I see that, and I'm very excited. Now if I can customize my shortcut icons, I'll be major happy. This is a very nice Launcher and my new default!

There was an update that popped up today, that and the fact that when you press home it goes to home now and not directly to leap. Used to just go straight to leap, like the changes. Now if they can change the bottom dock to let you customize it like in Helix that would be cool. Still love this home replacement, it's my default.

I've only been running this for an hour or so, but so far I really like it. It's noticeably quicker then Helix... at least for me.

I'm hoping there aren't any battery issues with it. I'll run it for a few days to be sure, but it's definitely a nice replacement

This is truly an awesome home app. Super fast and fluid. However, I just can't be without my HTC widgets. Why can't the HTC widgets just be regular android widgets?!?! WHY???!!!

This is why I have not changed again and I am only using the 4X1 Calendar app from HTC and like the looks of it best, so no change yet for me. I would use just about every one of the HTC Widgets if I didn't like all my screens to be only X3 in size instead of the 4X4. I like to leave the bottom block blank on all screens to scroll between and not accidently push an app or widget. I love the Agenda look on the HTC Calendar, but it has no sizing option of 4X3.... So I just use the Day one for now.

So I see in the version notes from earlier this week this item:

Customizable shortcuts on bottom bar

How do I do this?

Developers website says he's working on it, should be out next week barring no bugs with his update he just released. Can't wait!!

Go to the preferences (hit menu when on the home screen), and make sure "Enable Auto-rotation" is checked.

Don't know what happened . . . I did the update from Market and even rebooted my phone, but no luck. I finally uninstalled LauncherPro and then reinstalled it from Market--this fixed my issue and Landscape is working.

I love LauncherPro. Once I figure my widget situation out, I'm ready to make this my Default. Any suggestions on HTC replacements? I am using Beautiful Widgets Home right now--love it!

Weather + Toggle perfectly replaces the weather clock. Pure Calendar Grid replaces the calendar. For bookmarks and contacts you can just make folders - or try Live Bookmarks (?) for an auto bookmark folder.

Oh man, this is a great launcher, and makes me glad I use a Droid and don't have HTC widgets XD Keeps me from having to make any tough decisions about which I want more.

I go back and forth between Beautiful Widgets Home and Weather & Toggle. I downloaded a black skin for Weather & Toggle that's kind of neat.

Anyone know where these two services pull weather from? It's definitely different than the HTC Clock/Weather Widget.

That's pure grid calendar widget, with show timeline for events selected. I have it, just don't use the timeline thing

I just figured out how I can get the best of both worlds. I love my Sense Home set up and widgets, but I did think it was more cluttered then I preferred it to be with all of the Widgets and apps that I wanted. I also don't like the fact Sense won't do landscape.

Messed around with LauncherPro Beta today and noticed you can launch it by bringing the shortcut to your home page in Sense. No need for the home switcher. When I'm in LauncherPro, I have it set up so when I press the home soft key, it will return instantly to the Sense home. It's like changing scenes in Sense on the fly, but it doesn't lag with loading scenes as I've experienced with Sense and using home switcher.

Now I'm moving all of my music apps and anything I will use when I'm in "Driving mode". I have changed the background to suit this "Scene" and I can use it in landscape mode when mounted in my car. I will leave everything else intact in my "Sense mode" with my calendars and contacts, email widgets, etc including it's different background.

Please note that the launcherpro icon was not in my list of apps to be able to bring the shortcut to my home screen until after I rebooted it. It showed up in launcherpro but not in Sense at first.

Maybe others will enjoy this set up as much as I do.

If you use LauncherPro for any amount of time without reverting back to Sense, then Sense will shut itself off. When you switch, you will experience that delay because Sense will need to reload. I'm not sure how much time it is before this happens, but Sense will hibernate after so long of no use.

Also, if two launchers (LauncherPro & Sense) are both running, it has to use more battery.

I hope you can get this to work for you though.

Is anyone able to bring up Xscope using the web browser icon in the bottom dock? For me it brings up the default browser no matter what I do. I downloaded Dolphin browser just to see what happens, and the web browser icon changed to Dolphin....

I realize this is still in beta, so I might just need to wait for an update....

Has anyone else that is running LaucherPro beta noticed any kind of a battery drain since installing? It's either this or SwitchPro, but something is eating my battery, those are the only recent changes.

Ditto on Xscope. Tried restoring defaults and trying again and nothing. Still uses the POS stock browser.
