Root LCD Density Changer

would I still have root?

that wouldnt brick the phone, would it?

I dont mind re-installing all my stuff, since I have most of it backed up anyways, I just dont want a brick..

thanks!

I cant believe I waited till now to run this. This is a must have for me. I love high resolution and I always felt this phone was missing that with such a beautiful big screen.

Props to those you brought it to our attention.

I am running 180 at the moment, love it. Ill play around with it when I have some time.

That lil pouch hangin over is unacceptable!!!!!
hahaha jk :D

boy, every time I change my density and reboot my evo, it screws up and I have to nandroid restore...would love to try 168!

So does it work if you save to default to 200 on an EVO? The help section warns it might freeze up and required nandroid backup

Just wanted to say that you don't need to download a special app for this, the setting that needs to be changed is in /system/build.prop. I used Root Explorer's text editor to change this setting directly on the phone and then rebooted - all is well and the new density looks quite nice.

The setting you need to change is in the file: /system/build.prop

Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density = 240
Simply change the setting (I changed 240 to 220) and reboot, but I would recommend making a nandroid backup first just in case.
