same here i been trying but not luck. xbrokdikdogx in here said just push the flash-image, but idk how, i guess i need a guide!! lolz,

Can anyone with and/or without the market fix look to see if the blueant q1 app is displayed ? I seem to be running fine otherwise but cannot see this app. I am wondering if I need to apply the build.prop change to see this. I just need to verify that this app is in the market and that its not missing because its been removed alltogether.

Thanks.

No dice on mine, and I have not done the market fix!

i believe you got to do the build.prop!! it is showing on mine, i did do the market fix, but i took me like 10hours for the apps to show!!

here is a guide on how to do the bulid.prop
1. download and install android sdk
2. place build.prop in the android sdk tools folder, plug in phone and make sure usb debugging is turned on.
3. click start menu and type cmd
4. cd c:\android-sdk-windows\tools\ *use your full directory name
5. adb remount
6. adb devices *should display serial number
7. adb push build.prop /system/
8. adb reboot

After, clear your market cache
to clear the market cache on your phone you wanna hit menu / settings / applications / manage applications / wait for phone to process list / market / clear cache

So, I just did the Market update, following the directions above and everything went fine. too early to tell if it took. The phoen restarted as expected, but half of my htc widgets were missing: people, peep, cal... and they were not in the widget list either.

Just restarted again, everythin was in the list again, just had to add them back to my home pages. Got nervous for a sec.

dont forget to clear your market cache!! after the fix, then wait around five hours , download something, and you should be set, i receive an email from google after i download something, they say something about my new nexus one!! lolz, i guess the build.prop i used was from a nexus one!!!

Has anyone tried installing the helix launcher on this RUU? It seems to work fine but the live wallpapers cannot be found even though I have been able to download them successfully and I can see them in the applications menu by way of settings ?
Does this have be be tweaked ?

yea it has to be tweaked, because the hero hardware doesn't and wont support live wallpapers, unless you tweaked, personally i wouldn't put them on my phone!!

Live wallpapers are working fine on my phone...

Im just curious to see them work at least once. From what I gather their resource intensive and might have problems with the processor on this phone as compared to the newer 1g snapdragons. But, as a curiousity, I would like to just add one... was there anything special you had to do with helix to make it work and did you even need helix working on your phone? and are you using the stock RUU we all loaded or is this one of the custom roms? So far I have no real complaints about the phones performance. I think we still need to tweak some of the settings to prolong battery as I have been using it with stock settings and the battery is getting its usual run. As far as metrics go Im running on a full charge as of 7 am or so and it lasts me (using BT, surfing now and then , using radio streaming to my car, etc , avg use for me) until 8pm at night before the battery starts to indicate its getting low.

Yes, I had the same email from the android team. I wonder if the build.prop provided at XDA is from a Nexus?

The prop.build has the info for the nexus 1 signed keys. The problem with the RUU is it used tester keys and so protected apps would not work.

Live wallpapers work fine on the hero. I used the storm one for a day with no lag or anything. In order for them to work with the helix launcher, which I am loving by the way, you have to download the livewallpaperpicker.apk and push it to the phone. Then the option is there for them in the helix launcher. If you want them in sense also there is a replacement apk for that too, but I haven't done that one. I am going to stick with Helix launcher for now I think.

i have been noticing bluetooth issues losing connection with my phone and hanging up while i am using hands free in my car...anyone having any BT issues?

Heard a few complaints now about bluetooth, I never use it myself, so I can't help there. Sorry.

I picked up a blueant Q1yesterday and it works awesome. Allows you to pick up and ignore calls with voice and has 8 speed dial presets that actually connect through to the phone once you say the command to dial out. also plays your tunes via the headset. Its no in stereo but but since its doing all this other stuff so I don't mind as much. It makes up a bit for some of the bluetooth features lacking in the OS for now.

here you go

Just save this to your tools folder in the sdk..
download some of the live wallpapers from the market

adb push LiveWallpapersPicker.apk /system/app/

then just change wallpaper like normal, only you have a new option.
