It must have to do with the build.prop then, as I just ran the RUU again and it's back to my original one I quoted above!
Just as a side note, why don't you update your PRL?
 
Ok guys.. Ive been following this thread pretty closely and ampretty sure this hasnt come up. If so, i apologize. Im wondering how to remove the sprint "bloatware". I did install the leaked 2.1 ruu and love it. If you could point me in the right direction, id appreciate it!

Don't bother with Skyfire. It doesn't work. The CEO of the company went to XDA yesterday and let everyone know that this version has been disabled from the "cloud". Meaning that while you can browse in it you will not get to experience the one useful feature it has over the stock browser, watching flash video on your phone. Until they release a public beta we just have to wait. Sucks I know, but whatever. :)

As for removing the sprint bloatware, the easiest solution is using root explorer to delete the apk file of the software you want to get rid of. So you would navigate to /system/app or /data/app and remove the apk files. Here is a list of some of the commonly removed apps.

Interesting, So Last night I did a factory reset off the leaked RUU that most of us are using. The one with root built in for the testers. Then Since I was bored I tried to Reinstall the RUU again. The RUU install program showed a version on the phone greater than the one from the install program after the factory reset...hmmm The other interesting thing is that the market stayed the same. Showing all the apps that I couldnt see during the first install so the build.prop stayed the same ?? Well anyway ...just wanted to let you guys hear about my findings , strange as they may be.

That is coming from the market fix that were all doing, same version that you had before!

But if I re-flash through the leaked Rom itself (not damage or fresh) shouldnt it go back to the same market settings ? and have to redo build.prop ?

thats interesting, did u flash the RUU again??? if you did and the build.prop stayed in WOW!! i though that flashing the RUU would wipe everything on the phone!!
i dont know about you guys but to me the leaked is preattie much final, with the build.prop anyone can use it!!

BTW, thats a weird finding!! i wonder how and why the Build.Prop Stayed in!!:confused:
 
ever since i went to the leaked 2.1 my phone no longer vibrates when i get a text even though the phone is on vibrate wierd...
 
I have no idea...but for those of you that were confused by my rambles here is what I did in sequence.
1 screwed up the locked screen by implementing some apk that didnt give me the cool 2.1 lock screen I was looking for ...so ...I figured what the heck.

2 I did a factory reset from within the settings menu ...and the phone made all these cool color flashes and beeps and turned off and then on and vibrated and voila ....I'm reset...

lock screen still hosed.

So I performed the RUU install from the exe . Figuring it would wipe everything and fix the problem ...It did.

Then I figured well let me check out some programs I couldnt find in the market because initially stuff was missing...but I found the programs...leading me to believe the build.prop was working and still there as it found the apps missing...

Now If I can just find a decent class 6 memory card to format and try to move some apps over and such ...that would be nice...

Oh and there was a difference in the rom versions after the factory reset..go figure.
 
Hey Guys,

I used a home switcher app back in 1.5 that allowed you to view / set your home screen for Sense/home++/helix etc. This also alllowed you to set your screen to the default android (non-sense UI) screen to make it look like a stock android phone. It seems to be gone in 2.1. Does anyone's phone show this behavior also ? Not that I used the stock option much but I was just wondering why they removed it.
 
yea it seems that 2.1 and the new version of sense wont allow that to happen , which sucks!!, because i like default android better, but yea it seems that the new sense UI wont allow that to happen!!
 
How do I change my build.prop
I just ran this update and everything works fine I just need to change the build.prop to run 2.1 apps
I'm not rooted

well the easy way is to download the Root Manager from the market!!
after that copy the build.prop in ur sd card, go to root explorer and copy the build.prop to system!!
