I was going to do that but another respected dev told me not to!They're made for them, but you can build other devices off them. Thats what all the phone manufacturers do, but they add their own stuff to the source.

If you got the kernel built you should have no problem building a stock rom.Ive built a stock kernel for the avant ive even built a custom kernel but it breaks camera on stock rom
You should be able to without any problems. Once you get a stock ROM up and running you should be able to start working on cm11.I was going to do that but another respected dev told me not to!
Good to know. I would've started sync by now, but my internet speed is at 300 kbp/s on a good day.You should be able to without any problems. Once you get a stock ROM up and running you should be able to start working on cm11.

I've got I think 3 or 4 Mbps. [emoji14]Good to know. I would've started sync by now, but my internet speed is at 300 kbp/s on a good day. [emoji14]
Your custom kernel shouldn't have broke anything unless your missing the drivers or something.Ive built a stock kernel for the avant ive even built a custom kernel but it breaks camera on stock rom
It don't matter. You're ahead of me cause you've got a working stock kernel. I'm still downloading sources.Goodness. I normally get 3 or 4 MB/s. Should I take care of aosp and u guys do cm since u already have it synced?
That don't help us. He he I've got the asop source downloading to my build box. Then I need to get the kernel to my github and figure out where the platform.zip files need to go.I have aosp synced on my laptop but im at work right now i have a 50Mbps connection
There's some stuff that I need. Is there a firmware update that's zipped up available for this phone?Im just curious, what's your pc specs??
There was a zip, the slim rom. But I guess the dev took it down. There's some stuff that I need. Is there a firmware update that's zipped up available for this phone?
I just upgraded my build box. I have an amd a10-7850k 3.7ghz 4 core CPU, with 16 gigs of kingston hyper x memory. I also have a Samsung evo 250 ssd that should be here Monday. At the moment it takes one hour and 20 mins to build my g3 ROMs from a complete clean state.

And hearing your specs discouraged me from building roms. I have a dual core 2.33 ghz Intel processor. 6gb ram. A Hitachi 300 gb hdd...
I wish I could share my 30mbps internet with youGood to know. I would've started sync by now, but my internet speed is at 300 kbp/s on a good day. [emoji14]
I've built roms before. Multiple times, but the device I built for had only me. Seeing as u have more experience and a better pc than me. I think I'm gonna drop.I used to build on my 2006 imac. It has a 2.16 duo core cpu, with 8gbs of memory and a 250gb owc ssd drive. Took about 6 hours to build from clean. It can be done. You'll just need patience.
do you know where I can get my hands on this slim rom for the advant? That'd help us out a lot. I can tear apart that rom and figure out how to get things setup better.I've built roms before. Once we get something going you can help build other roms besides cm and asop.I've built roms before. Multiple times, but the device I built for had only me. Seeing as u have more experience and a better pc than me. I think I'm gonna drop.
Yeah, think aclegg2011 below could share their machines too? [emoji14] Ugh, only techie in my group of friends (with the exception of two others who have BEASTS of machines) - and I have generalisticly the lease powerful. Oh well, at lease you learn about low overhead.I wish I could share my 30mbps internet with you
