Root Let's Get CM Onto Avant!

If you prefer clockworkmod recovery we have that too. It, like twrp, has its own thread here in the galaxy avant all things root section.
Very nice indeed. Also, I should like to point out that the post I read regarding having to use odin to flash and not heimdall is incorrect; I just flashed TWRP with heimdall and all was well in the world, and got SuperSu installed just fine :)

Ah good to hear, as far as we knew heimdall hasn't been tested, so cudos to you my friend :D here's the link to cwm http://androidforums.com/index.php?threads/905645/ for the rest of the things you asked for I have no idea lol

On which os did u use heimdall??
Arch Linux, self-compiled with a patch to BridgeManager.cpp. Like I said, I'm not the average newbie begging for handouts :)

Hell I've flashed TWRP and CWM both using heimdall, flashed the latest build of cm here using CWM, and reverted to stock rooted all using heimdall. I only reverted because I can't seem to get on the metropcs apn inside cm, keeps saying T-Mobile on the bars tile in the swipe down menu

I'm on MetroPCS but my phone reads it as T-Mobile.. As Lin as my data works, it's fine with me.

Well it seems to me that it doesn't work well/at all, even after switching to the MetroPCS APN

seems I spoke too soon, I just reflashed CM (using CWM installed over heimdall) and its fine now... strange indeed :)

Very intresting, my phone didn't do this before I flashed this ROM, I turned my phone off last night with like 60% battery, turn it on in the morning and it was down to 1%, maybe my battery detector thingy is ****ed up?

--Edit-- also when i plugged it in, and checked 5 minutes later i went from 1% to like 25% .-.
Could it be because I got a brand new ROM I have to calibrate the battery detector again?

you prob do have to calibrate it I had the same experience on the HP touchpad first time I flashed a rom, theres a tool in the app store that requires root, you charge up your phone fully then run the app from there it rebuilds a file for the system to know how much battery you actually have

Yeah thats what I was thinking Cobra, Do you remember the name of the app?

--Edit-- Nevermind, found it,or alteast one

Made a new account since couldn't figure out my old info.
Anyway, wanted to thank everyone for the amount of time and work that has been put into this, really appreciate it.
One day, I'd like to be able to do all this like you guys.

Ugh... If only Spotify didnt have that stupid video at the login screen :( now the only means of listening to music on the go is either downloading the music or using up all my data playing the youtube videos, a 10 minute walk around my block listening to youtube took up 50 mb of data, while spotify used to take up at most 25

--Edit-- does a phone need special hardware to use the FM radio app thing? I was going to try that, but all the stations were complete static

You're right it is all static..
Weird, I don't think you require more than earphones for it to work. At least my old Samsung Exhibit works with just earphones.
Also, you got your videos to work?? Youtube crashes on me .

I got spotify to work by tapping the bottom of the screen where sign in is BEFORE the app launches ( as soon as you tap the app icon), and got sent to the login screen and spotify then worked perfectly. (In other words, tap on spotify and then rapidly start tapping the bottom of your screen where sign in is.)

Hey guys!
Good news. I got the "headphones fixed" build to work on my Galaxy Core LTE. And even better news, I was able to start up the camera app, quickly switch to camcorder, and get some video from the back camera. Trying to switch to the front camera caused the app to crash.:p

Oh thanks Sai, you saved my life :3.

And also gibbon, I can launch my camera app fine, trying to take picutes with the back camera just gives me a black picture, and the front camera is just so weak, its all pixelated... but the back camera can take videos perfectly, so can my front camera, its weird that mine doesnt crash like yours does

--Edit-- I'm a idiot, didnt notice it was a different device .-.

On another Topic I cant really tell, but it seems like my battery goes down faster while idling than with the stock rom, hard to tell, but took it off the charger at 100% like 3 hours ago and its already at 95%, atleast its better than it was before I calibrated it, before I calibrated it went from 100% to like 70% in only a hours time

--Edit Edit-- I need to learn how the hell to use quotes... when I try to reply to posts, it gives me some error cannot send the message or somthing like that, and I got no idea how to use the multi quote thing

I didn't think the cm11 build worked on the core?
