Let's see your "Incredible" layout (Pun intended)

Can you explain how you're theming widgets?

Thanks.

sure, what im doing is putting the apk on my computer, opening it (not unziping) using 7zip. go into the res folder and copy the drawable-hdpi (or mdpi, or just drawable depending on where the images are you want to edit, most are in drawable hdpi or mdpi) folder to your desktop for easy finding. open that up and you'll see a bunch of png and .9.png files. don't edit the .9.png files unless you know what you're doing, but replacing or editing png files is a cinch. once your done editing (changing colors or making things transparent) you're gona need to "sign" the apk unless it is a system app in which they do not need to be resigned. once you sign the apk, place on your sd card. use root explorer (or whatever) to delete the original apk you are replacing, reboot your phone, then go back into root explorer and click on your new apk, install and enjoy. if that's too much to swallow ask me whatever you need, that's how i learned.

Sweet that looks awesome love the orange!

Post what apps your using and widgets please thanks!

Hey guys, awesome looking screens! I've had my phone since the launch, but as of this past weekend, scrolling through this thread (again) really got me to customizing my phone. I was getting tired of how SenseUI looked, so I opted for LauncherPro Plus. I miss having a weather widget though, so I'm thinking of getting Beautiful Widgets.

I got a question for you guys though. Do I have to be rooted to get some of the features that I want? For example, I really like having a percentage for battery in the status bar and I want a different lock screen. How would I go about that? Thanks in advance!

I'll post screens as soon as I'm happy with what I have.

you can download fancy widget for a weather widget, its free and very nice.

as for as the lock screen, youre going to have to pay for that i think.

Thanks for the tip on fancy widget, I will definitely give it a try.

For the lock screen, I assumed that I would probably have to dish out some cash for WidgetLocker.

How does one go about changing the look of the notification bar?

it's been so long since i've been unrooted and looking into rooted stuff i honestly can't remember if you have to be rooted or not to change your framework-res.apk. that is where you will find most of your notification bar icons in which you will want to change or mod, unless your looking to change the notification icon for gmail, or mms, or any other app, in which those icons will reside in the respective apk. simply adb pull or use root explorer to get your framework-res.apk (located in system/framework folder) onto your pc. using 7zip open it up (not unzip, just double click it) and go into res folder, then copy the drawable hdpi folder to your desktop for easy locating. keep all your 7zip windows open. click on you drawable hdpi folder you just made on your desktop and it'll pop open showing you all the png's inside which you can not do what you wish with. when done drag that folder back into the archive and itll replace the original drawable hdpi folder with your edited one. tada! now the easiest way ive been able to implement the new framework-res.apk is to use update.zip maker (found in xda forums) and just make a flashable but you will have to be rooted for that method. and in all honesty....root that dam thang, that's what this is all about. any further questions or explanation is here if needed:cool:

Still playing with miui 10.29.1 rom using dsktop viualizer and "glassy icons" (@ deviant art). My only screen

Haha yeah, I know that rooting is the next step. So far, I've been satisfied with what I've done so far. I have no problem doing stuff to my PCs, but for some reason, doing the same type of things on my phone is making me hesitant. Reading on these forums have been immensely helpful though for when I do take the plunge.

I love how the sliders all look on one side. I think I'm gonna have to get widgetlocker.

OK so here's what I've been working on...way too amateur compared to what you guys have put out, but it's still a work in progress.

screenpreview.png

Screen preview. Once I set up my folders a little more with desktop visualizer, I should be able to fill up more of the home screens.

screen1.png

This one is the furthest screen to the left. The widget is from LauncherPro Plus and this is the main dock.

screen2.png

This is the next screen, which is the people widget from LauncherPro Plus.

screen3.png

My main screen. The clock is typoclock. All the icons, minus the Display, are folders using Apps Categories.

screen4.png

The icons are all folders created using Apps Categories, minus the very bottom row of icons.

I think customizing my screens is gonna get very addicting, as I like to tinker with the look of things.

A list of my apps that I use can be found here: http://www.appbrain.com/user/mhtrang/apps-on-the-adr6300

how did you get all the lock screens on one side? all ive seen is the ones where they have one on each side

I posted this in one or two other threads already, but might as well post it here, too...

First thing: start with a clean slate:

1. Open the "WidgetLocker" app.
2. Press "Look & Feel".
3. Press "Slider & Layout".
4. Press "No Slider".

Then follow these steps:

Of course you can just switch which side has the "No Action". The only drawback to doing the sliders this way
is that no other widget or icon can go next to the slider. WidgetLocker still sees that entire row as a widget even
though the slider is only on one side.

Hope this helps.
