Let's see your XOOM Desktop Home / Wallpaper

It is an option of WidgetLocker. On the lockscreen, tap the Menu button. Then select "Look & Feel", and then place the checkmark in "Alternative Wallpaper". After that, just click on "Select Wallpaper" to set whatever paper you want.
well, I d/l this before I realized that you have to use a their lockscreen. lol I wanted to use the standard xoom lockscreen but be able to put my own wallpaper on it. It would be nice if Widget Locker had that option... to keep my standard lockscreen and still be able to edit other things.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any way to change the lockscreen wallpaper and still use the stock lock. WidgetLocker does have a lot of different configurations/options you can choose from when setting up your lockscreen (you can even select the iPhone lock...lol (like I would do that to my droid...)).

Yea, I looked around a little but didn't see anything I liked better. And the design I made for my lockscreen wallpaper goes with the standard lockscreen that the xoom has. Oh well. I know one thing, I definitily won't be putting an icrap lockscreen on my xoom. lol

Bgrutter.... that is the size I used... 200 pixels wide.

Well, I feel I bit dim. The reason I picked 200 was because of your previously posted recommendation. The problem was not due to distorted images. The problem was that I was also assigning labels to the Widgets. I thought that was just a way of naming it, since I was using a different icon than the ones supplied.

Anyway, Reduce Photo Size is great. All's well.

Ghoticov,

I love the icons, thanks for posting these! I am trying to change the underline to a blue gradient, rather than red, but I don't know how to do that...can you briefly tell me? Also, when I simply changed the text to a different word, it made the background white, rather than transparent. Can you tell me how to keep the background transparent? I'm using PS Elements 8.0. Thanks again, and thanks for all your help here! I suspect there are a lot of xooms out there using your icons! :)

I love the clean look and the different wallpaper for the lock screen. How do you get the icons to the far right edge? Are you using a launcher?

That is the dock from Launcher Pro. In landscape mode, the dock is on the right side of the screen (perfect for the Xoom). In portrait mode, it is moved to the bottom.:)

I have had several request for the icons that I used on my desktop. I zipped them up and they are attached. I also attached the .psd file if anyone wants to customize them on their own.

Here is my desktop as of now:

I don't know anything about PS Elements so I would assume that using that program has something to do with changing the background. Also, make sure you save them as .png files in order to get the clear background.

How did you get the buttons and Settings window to have that Red highlighting?

Here is my newest. I think I am finally done with my home screen (well, until BigDX can get the google icon red and the Apps icon red)... but haven't I said that before? HA!

Lovin me some red...

Here is what I am using:

- Wallpaper ... using submicron's from deviantart. He has some incredible work! I only added the xoom logo on the wallpaper via photoshop.
submicron's deviantART gallery
- Minimalistic Text ... for all the clock, battery and weather text widgets
https://market.android.com/details?id=de.devmil.minimaltext&feature=search_result
- Apps Organizer ... for organizing my apps into folders
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.code.appsorganizer&feature=search_result
- Desktop Visualizer ... created custom icons (multi, internet, tools, games) via photoshop and use this apps widgets to then launch Apps Organizer

- BigDX Red Theme (shout out!!!!!)
[THEME] ☢ BigDX Xoom|Zoom Theme ☢ 3G/4G & Wifi Only ☢ Matching System Clock ☢ 4/20/11 - xda-developers

Also running the Tiamat 1.3.3 Kernel (got a 4555 quadrant benchmark) at 1504MHz, also got the ClockworkMod and SDCard support. I am loving this tablet.

What's to come:

- Circle Launcher 2.0. This new release will have more widget size options (versus only being able to use a 1x1 like it is now). Once this happens, I'm all over it!

I also spoke to the developer and he said he is looking into being able to launch folders instead of just apps. In other words, if I click on my "Movies" Circle Launcher widget, it will open all the movies in that folder (will have to create icons for each movie but that's easy enough). Will possibly call it Circle Launcher Media addition. Sounds good to me...

It about time Circle Laucher added bigger widgets than 1x1. I really dislike the way all these other app organizers work and most importantly how they look when you open them up. Circle widgets is a much nicer look. Thanks for sharing all your work, it really helps others know what these devices are truly capable of, and how it really can differeniate itself from Ios devices.

I agree, circle launcher is by far my favorite but I can't handle those 1x1 widgets either.

Speaking of iOS, whenever someone with an iPad see's my Xoom, they are floored at what it is capable of. People buy iPads, for the most part, because they don't know any better. I love showing off the Xoom! :)
