Hey everyone I'm new here and to the Evo. Had it about a month now and want to really get into customizing it like what I see here. Any suggestions on threads that teach you how to do these things like customize the dock?

Okay, I have a folder on the root section of my sdcard that I titled "icons." Whenever I use Better Cut or try to access my icons, I have to use the gallery on my EVO. The problem with this is my gallery is not displaying the icon folders as they would look if you opened the folder on the sdcard.

It seems to be breaking down the folders by icon size and in the process, the folder names are not there most of the time.

Where do I put all my icons so they are in teh right place when I use Better Cut or any other app that lets you use custom icons?

Also, when I open up the "new froyo gallery," its being populated by all my icons! I think its actually tripling my icons by displaying them according to size as I use png icons.

I want to use the new gallery but can't cuz it takes too long to populate.

Can someone help me?

I have never used the froyo gallery, well that I know of.

I'm not sure how to make all the icons stay in one folder. I just put my icons in folders inside of my icon folder. your gallery will then show you each individual icon folder.

I have a few random individual icons and they stay in the icon folder for whatever reason.

How did you hide the app drawer button?

Mine if I asked where you get that wallpaper and those icons? And if you have the wallpaper without the kanji? :)

Instead of using BetterCut, why don't you use FolderOrganiser lite? It lets you use file managers like ASTRO to choose and make icons.

You should add a .nomedia file in your icon folder so they don't show up in the gallery.

If you follow these steps then your gallery will not show up every single icon on your SD card and still be able to make custom icons with ease.

^ Here's how I have it:

Folder named 'Icons' on top, with folders inside separating my icons into categories, (ie. 'Red Icons', 'Black Icons', etc.).

When I open my gallery, I see the category folders. And, I use BetterCut.

Works for me. :)

Thanx for your help! How do I add a .nomedia file? Is it something I download? Or do i just make a new text doc and change the extension to .nomedia?

Also, which note app is this?

Okay, I have a quick question for those who are using "Bettercut" and Launcherpro. When trying to use the Bettercut icons on the Launcherpro Dock bar I am having no luck. Is anyone else having the same problem?

In other words, the Icons will not attach to the dock bar. It seems you can only use the stock app icons.

Do a long press on the stock icon in the dock and you get the option to change icon.

Here are my screen shots (Oh' Im not rooted). I used Android-sdk. to get my screen shots. I am using Launcherpro plus for my Home app. Beautiful Widgets for my clock and Weather widget. Bettercut for my icons. I am also using Handcent w/ better Keyboard for my SMS.
