adw.launcher
icon pack called chocologic (don't know where I got it, sorry :( )
fresh 0.5.3 ROM

alright this took me forever to figure out the screen capture. never actually did, i got stuck trying to make it download the usb driver thing. finally said screw it i'll skip that step and move on. what do you know it worked anyways. crap, what a waste of time.. lol.

so this is just my first attempt at launcher pro and custom icons. had to resize some of them and made a few myself.

now i just need to figure out my switch widgets and i should be good to go, well good to go for more customizing:D

anyone know if you can change the clock font color in beautiful widgets, or is it only changeable with skins? anyways i was going for a biomechanical look with all green android colored icons/ clock. i didn't find any green clocks i liked so that changed to yellow.. oh well.

Dont buy bettercut. Use folder organizer lite

How do you change the icon using folder organizer? I don't get the change icon option with neither versions of folder organizer. Launcher pro keeps force closing, so I'm back to stock setup until I figure it out.

Thanks.

I wish icons were not so hard to find. All of the ones on the market seem to require open home to be running, which I do not want, plus I cannot even find a preview of many of them.

If people could start posting links to the icon set(s) they used, I am sure most everyone here would be very appreciative.

Um if your using folder organizer lite, you can use all the icons from bettercut/ open home. 98% of icons can be used in folder organizer lite.

good guide. But i might recommend adding them to homecreen as a widget instead of shortcut. That way when you change icons in the app they automatically update on the homescreen without recreating all your shortcuts

also for anyone that didnt know. You can save your icon setups in folder organizer. hit menu then export and name your file. to recall it just import it, and restart the phone, boom, just like you left them. I always save my theme before i start editing icons again

just messing around with this one.

is there a way i can use icons downloaded from the market on the dock? or just ones i find on the web and what not?

Wow, most of you guys really love either launcer pro or adw launcher. Can someone briefly tell me what the difference is? I just dont see much difference between those and the stock/sense. And i actually like the big clock widget.

The big thing to me is the dock at the bottom. It's scrollable, and you can add your own apps/shortcuts to the dock itself vs Sense's dock which isn't customizable. I got 10 icons between 2 rows along the bottom, and it frees up room on my home screen for a nice clean look.

Beautiful Widgets has alot of different big clock widgets, including ones that look like stock Sense. Plus, you can customize the way each clock widget looks (transparency, font, hide background, etc).

I've never tried adw. It's just user preference i think

problem with putting them down as a widget is that the name of the file isnt hidden anymore.

What are you doing to make your own icons?

oh just photoshop... or more like photochop for me. i'm not very advanced with what i was doing. the rubiks cube was cut out of another picture i found. the people icon was a chopped up myspace icon. and then i made a green P for pandora to match the green jelly icons i was using. some of the others i just stretched out by opening the file in PS and hitting control T, then you can stretch, skew or rotate.

i was using a 420 x 420 box as that was the default size from Royalty Free Icons & Clipart Stock Images ~ Icons Etc.

if you look close you can see not all my icons match size perfectly. this was just my first attempt, a little rough.

thanks for posting that folder organizer guide. i didn't notice earlier as i hadn't refreshed my screen since getting home from work.

420x420 is way too big, that wider than the phones screen lol. I generally like to use 80x80. Works nice on our screens IMO

Yeah I kinda figured. At first I tried to downsize the box of those icons, but then It looked even worse. I was trying to make a set from that link, but It wasn't working out so well. As you can see I lost some definition in them. This is why I asked about how to use icons from the market in the dock.

Thanks for the tip tho, I'll try 80 x 80 next time I venture down that road.

How did you change the color of the top Info bar?
