I have the same issues when taking pictures through sdk. a lot of custom settings change when plugging the phone in. they all come back after unplugging and then turning the screen off and on. if you look below my grocery list should be blue and the music player should have album art on it.
well this is it for now. i've decided to go ahead with root, so its time to head over to xda for some questions. need to get a backup going first.

I know some of these phones are rooted, while others are not. ie can change desktop, icons, etc with non-root-required apps.
Can the iPhone do any of this? Never owned one... never will. LOVE LOVE LOVE my EVO. I sleep with it.. literally.. lol.

Yeah but you gotta jailbreak it. Basically same as rooting an android phone. Currently there is still no jailbreak for the Iphone 4.Stupid question...

jailbreaking an iphone was/is a pain in my ball sack (did it for a friend). i bricked it twice because you have to jump through so many damn hoops. evo was much easier! and.....the evo is SOOOOOOO much more customizable! i dont know what people see in iphones. to each their own i guess. i look at it like this - i drive a chevy (or whatever brand vehicle) and i will never drive anything different. so closed minded.

You gotta do the same for some android phones. Incredible took a while to crack. Milestone took FOREVER, and now Droid X and presumably Droid 2 will pose more of obstacle for devs. So that is not really a "plus" for the "open" platform of Android any longer. It was actually 100x easier to jailbreak my old ipod touch than the Evo, the program was idiot proof, with pictures and big click buttons for some of the apple *****
and there is a iphone 4 jailbreak, just hasnt been publicly released. Geohot did it, (legendary hacker)

and i didnt know that bout other droids...im comin from a blackberry. i hated not being able to customize my phone/os. yea, you can apple cool themes, but nothing as cool as the evo has been able to do!!
No Worries...I was beginning to get a complex that I couldn't find it on any of the Android forums. Then you said the first post....went searching and still couldn't find it!
