Help LG Ally Lagging?

I got my Ally in June. It works great, except it takes a couple of seconds for it to open an app when I first click on it. This didn't use to happen. I'm wondering if there is a way to restore the original quickness to the phone.

I've noticed that the more apps you have on the phone, the slower the phone gets. Could be your problem here.

If you are rooted, boot into recovery and wipe cache, then reboot. If not, go through your apps in manage applications and clear cache on each one. Also clean out your browser history and cookies. I was also told you should pull the battery while the phone is on once in awhile. This clears out memory..? Try that and see if it helps.

How do you do that?

More than likely your problem is that the phone's memory is full, or getting very close to being that way. Have you recently installed an app killer? Like Advanced Task Killer (ATK) for instance?

Memory is probably the right answer here. I know it seems simple, but try rebooting. Uninstall apps you aren't using. If rooted, delete everything in /data/dalvik-cache and reboot again.

With this problem, you're trying to clear up space in the /data partition. Here's what won't help: deleting system apps that are odex'd (because these are in the /system partition and store nothing in the dalvik-cache in /data), deleting things from your sd-card, etc. Really, the focus is on user-installed apps.

As a side note, LauncherPro isn't going to speed up the phone. It may use less memory than the launcher it replaces, and therefore alleviate the low memory problem to some extent, and it's a faster launcher than some, but it's not full of magic hacks that make anything outside of the launcher go faster.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to this. Life is hectic right now.

I don't have a lot of user installed apps on my phone at this point. I try to only keep a certain amount on there at a time. My memory is nowhere near full, so I'm not sure what is going on with it.
I do have ATK installed, and Lookout. Those have been installed since the day I got the phone.
I keep up on clearing the cache and stuff, as much as I can.
Could everything being sync'd, like Facebook, and all of that be affecting it?

idk my ally always lagged.... even when i oced' to 825 stable.... i think it is caused by the lack of dedicated video ram personally... bty you dont really need lookout unless you are dling alot of unknown apps... yeah i guess you could get a virus but it is very unlikely at the moment especially if your email has a virus checker online like yahoo mail. and yes syncing does slow it down a little bit
