Root [LG connect 4G] How much and what it offers

Hi OP I've been keeping up with this phone since if was first rumored I've done a lot of research, and called a few friends that work with metropcs in Miami, what source did you get this release date from. I've clicked every single search engine link and haven't found any solid word on release date for the Connect or the Viper(same phone check out the battery cover!) :D ...

The Front facing camera is 0.3/VGA for sure it's been confirmed since I think before CES 2012. In addition thank you for this great update, hope to hear more soon.

Provided dual core means the phone will come with a cpu w/ two cores, how will devs go about overclocking it? i guess what im trying to ask is how would it work? do you overclock ea core individually or as a whole? what will be the overall/safest/highest overclocked speeds? This last one is kind of too early to know, im just being curious

I've not seen that anywhere..and in the main CES video, the guy even says its a 1.3mp front camera.. also email from corp and given features are 1.3 front. Anything less would just be horrible. 1.3 is a requirement I'm sure..
 
its not really a requirement. iphone for instance is .3 vga. everywhere i look online says .3 but doesnt really matter. no one really uses it. lol =]

But really... Cmon guys, how many times have you used your front facing camera. Let me see how many times I've used mine... oh wait, I've never used it lol. Except for the time that I accidently pressed the button that turns it on.
How hard is it to turn the camera and take a pic of yourself(unless your Derick Zoolander and you like to look at your amazingly good looking face every 2 seconds)

i use mine w/Tango app to talk with my family up North (brother), he has his Iphone & it works well.

I but I think the vast majority of people that buy smart phones especially higher end ones more less look for performance. High end front facing cameras are not usually the one thing that makes a smart phone stand out.
I personally will be getting the connect because its going to be a faster phone. I have all the packaging that came with my esteem so if I need to I can sell it just like it came out of the box brand new

Don't change the subject. We're trying to nail down the specs and someone from Metro says 1.3 megapixels while official LG says 0.3. So, WHICH IS IT? Somebody is giving incorrect info.

We are not discussing how the front camera is used. That is up to the user.



Has this phone been rooted yet? Just wondering why is this topic in All things ROOT when the phone has not even been released yet? Yeah, on Jan. 9 Metro PROMISED it would be released by Feb 9, but that date has long passed.

WOW! Sorry about posting my opinion. But since your trying to moderate, this technically should be in the METROPCS forum.... But, then again there are many threads in the esteem forum that are misplaced. Thats what the report button is for, so if you feel the need that this is in the wrong section then you can simply just press the report button.
I was simply just sharing my opinion that you dont need a top of the line camera for the front. Most people use it for video chat. Sorry Bud. :D
 
lol. i believe all other websites before i believe what metro said. (i.e. take no offense please aere. but the release date for the connect and the update release for the esteem took forever and information was given from metro) so if the majority says .3 vga. im sticking to it. plus my phone arena has never failed me one bit. official dates and everything =]
 
I would advise anyone who wants to jump on this phone to wait. Unless you have a crappy phone. I had an optimums M. and jumped on Esteem don't regret my choice for one bit. my first true smart phone.


I know we can't keep up with technology but I remember reading comments of people saying man I just brought Galaxy indulge and now the esteem is out. if you have an esteem now. I would wait for a better upgrade to the esteem.

or you might be one of them people saying damn i just got the connect lol, unless you're ballin' like that and have money to waste. good luck.
