LG Connect coming soon will you make the switch?

If it really does launch with rumored specs I just might then hopefully an ICS ROM will become available for it or it will be officially updated to it.
 
alot of metropcs customers just invested $400 on the Lg esteem phone and some waited and instead invested $300 dunno about getting alot of people to buy this phone but then again people will throw away money just to come back and post on this forum they got it lol.
 
ill get it if it comes to sprint,verizon. there would be more dev supports and many more ports:) and its a dual core thats what am really wanting for.
 
ummm... The linked article said there will be a Sprint and a VZW version. Actually, they make it sound like they are extrapolation the MetroPCS info by conglomeration from what they know of the other two...
 
well right now these phone are just baby steps up and their edited for lower cost so the s2 cost like 600usd with out 2 yr so you add up all these extra fees it might be close to 700-800+ and who knows what they will edit in the phone

I waited on the esteem. The metro store I go to always gives me the heads up and they told me right then, not to buy it. They told me a dual core phone was coming and to wait. I'm so glad I listened to them! From what I have been reading, the Esteem's battery sucks just as much as the indulge. Even tho I dont really care for LG I want the dual core, and the front facing camera, oh and the wiFi hotspot.

It is nowhere close to being as bad as the Indulge. With the Gingersteem rom I can go all day on a single charge. The Indulge would die on the bus ride to my college.
 
Does anyone know what the processor is inside the Connect? I know it's a 1.2ghz dual core, but is there any word on which one it is?

And yeah, I'm absolutely gonna make the switch. The battery life on my indulge is simply unacceptable. Hopefully the Connect's is better. I don't really care too much about that, though. Those two cores have already sold me. I'm just playing the waiting game now.

battery on my indulge lasts a full day easy. have you done anything to your phone?
 
I would buy it but i have a problem... my hands an fingers are big, for me having a touch only phone with no physical keyboard would put me in a tedious rage. Unless I found an app that had extra big letters or something. So im kinda limited... :-(
 
im thinking about it...but i would wait a little bit, i want to know hows the battery life...now it is my first spec i look for in any phone. the indulge just sucks! you can't enjoy it, you can't do anything with it....

although im not convinced on the size, i don't quite like large screens.....

Your fingers must not be that big if you can use the keyboard on the Indulge. It's too small for my fingers and I actually prefer using the touchscreen on my Esteem (much larger keys).

This. I routinely got 12-13 hours out of my Indulge when I was running Basix ROM. And that was with a regular (non-extended life) battery!

I really think that the so called "bad name" of the Indulge comes from people who are Doing It Wrong.
 
I'm gonna wait and make sure there are no issues rooting this phone like there were with the Indulge. Once it's rooted, and some good ROMs are ready for it, I'll probably make the switch. '

Who knows, maybe by then the price will drop too.

100% agree with you! i want to know how's the battery life too!!
 
I'm really thinking about getting the connect on the next month or two but I would like to see a battery life comparison between the indulge and connect. If someone is able to test them for example finding an ~30 minute youtube video and replaying it on both over LTE to see which phone holds out longer.
 
So I've been a long time Indulge user. Rooted and upgraded to BASIX rom and ElectricSheep. Even bought one of those double capacity batteries from china. Gotta say that I've had fun with it for it's time but all good things must come to an end...

Just went out and bought the LG Connect earlier today and so far this thing has blown me away! The dual core processor is a BEAST. Ran antutu benchmarks and it outperforms even the HTC evo3d and a few tablets. Havent tested the bettery life fully yet but I'm impressed so far. Way better than stock indulge. To top it all off, k0nane (creator of BASIX and electricsheep) has already rooted this thing. Been out less than a week and gettin tons of love from the masters.

As much fun as I've had with my Indulge, I now have a new love and I'm sad to say that I must leave it for the newer/younger model. I do wish all the best for all the current Indulge users and still give mad props to the developers out there working hard to get 2.3 Gingerbread ported over, or even CM7.
