Root LG Connect Download mode for soft brick fix.

TO access download mode take out battery, put it back in while holding both volume up and down and then plug in the usb cable and it will say download in progress dont disconnect and use the LG updater tool to recover or update the phone unlike normal situation lg updater tool will always see the phone as the factory version allowing us to restore easily. I am extremely glad LG included download mode in this phone unlike the Esteem which was very disappointing

this method will work for anyone who cant recover their phone via lg updater tools normally because their phone is refurbish so thanks guys.

Yup that's actually what it does update to the latest firmware and restores the phone to stock also, if you are concerned about returning the phone make sure to also do a rest after the phone is updated

Not really thats the good part, if you follow the guide and go to the download mode correctly. The LG updater tool will see the phone as version ZV8 so you can update no matter what. If that wasnt the case then you would of need a friends phone to trick the updater tool to download the update and you disconnect and reconnect your own phone. But luckily we have the download mode

Lol yah but not like the connects, though that was what I was trying to say but was too lazy to write all the details well had to sell my Esteem for some important reasons but thanks man u did lot for that phone and made it awesome it was awesome and I loved doing all those mods and restore with lgpnst and crazy things it was cool

I'm trying recovery phone and all I'm getting is "model not supporting s/w update" I don't get it, I'm not trying to update anything. I just want my phone back...
 
I just got a replacement phone and looks like im getting the error you guys are getting, the sw not valid etc then its already updated stuff, strange I will see if I can figure a way out of this mess thanks for checking my post guys
 
Im getting this error Model Not Supporting S/W Update trying to do this I need some help, I am stuck in the Bootloop from CWM again and is just not letting me flash the correct, and yes the phone is in ZV8 and cant seem to get it to ZV9, if anybody has stock recovery so I could flash it would be great.
 
Guys so far the only trick that will work for now or for doing this brick fix method, if your getting the SW error or etc is that you will need a another connect from friend or someone to trick the Lg updater tool to start downloading the update. After the download starts you can disconnect your friend's phone and connect yours while in download mode and that will fix the brick. For now this is the way, I am trying my best to find a different method or to extract a image from the update so we can use LGPNST to flash the bin
 
I Installed this update after I messed up trying to unroot. It worked and got me back to stock. But now the root doesn't work. Really missing root.. Bloatware sucks! Hope Kokane and the gang see this. Yes, I uninstalled drivers and reinstalled.

That's strange, I have rooted my phone on the latest version couple of times along with my friends everything is checked right, I mean usb debugging and that usb mode is set to Internet connection. That's just strange
 
would it do any harm if I tried to lg esteem bootloop fix for the connect? I havent tried it but I cant find anyway to get my phone working again and I dont know anyone with another lg connect for me to do this method with

Edit: [well I tried it and it did nothing Ive tried everything that LG has told me to do and no luck... I have to contact metro if I want anything to do with software... so as for right now I am without a phone and would love it if somebody made a fix that doesnt require another LG connect cause so far thats not happening]

Ok so after doing this on the phone connected to lg support tool and says i have latest version the phone still says download is in progress what do i do now just wait till its done the lg tool is not doing anything just says Model LGMS840 Version _ any help please im trying to update to new software enless i should just stay with the stock version zv8
 
This tricked me phone into thinking I didn't have the Update and now I can re-download the new update and hopefully unroot my phone :)
 
Im glad it worked for you guys. Holy shit I got so busy almost forgot to check my own created post. Well I will be trying a new kind of thing to help out. Thanks to Dracconus for already figuring out the LG updater tool.
 
So today I went to sell my Connect and went into the privacy settings to do a factory reset (not thinking of going into cwm to do it) and I then get stuck in the bootloop with cwm. Sucked. Thanks to you guys, I came home and was able to do the soft brick fix as you described which worked well and I'm back to unrooted and stock. (though it is horrible and riddled with the metro apps as usual).
Anyways, this is just a post to say thank you and that I'm only selling my phone temporarily and getting another connect soon.
