Root LG connect

Android Enthusiast
I know this is not the correct section because one has not been created yet for it..

..but I wanted to let the current Esteemers (if intereseted) know that we just received the LG Connect 4G displays.

~ Which means we'll be getting the phones in for sales soon. :D

Just wanted to toss that out there!

EDIT: Update, LG Connect will be available the first week of March for $329!

It will support voice and data at the same time as the attain does.

It at all possible, post shots of the front back, depth compared to the Esteem, random things like that. I know I can look at the dimension but would like to be able to see it COMPARED to the Esteem.

Any idea on $
Oldest son needs his first Android:D

Corp doesn't give a prices that's official until about 3-4days prior. lol

I know it's going to be at least $299.00

Any rebates mir or instant - haven't heard yet.

when I do i'll keep you updated! ;)

You didn't mention the NOVA display in them! Come on, everyone knows that all LG Displays are phenomenal! Heck, LG manufactures the iPhone displays! The NOVA from what I have read is JUST as good, and better in a lot of ways, than the iPhone 4s and GSII displays! Esteem OC to 2.2GHz with a TFT-LCD vs 1.2GHz DC Processor and a NOVA display... only IF they can overclock the Connect to any VISUALLY NOTICEABLE difference better than the processor and if they can only make it par then the screen will not be worth the ATLEAST $350(You Know It WILL Start Out As That, Either That Or $400) upgrade price. Gonna be a beast phone no matter what.

if people are worried about a 299 price point then i don't know what to tell you. it's nicer than the esteem by the specs, i mean i expected worse than 300...

Well I say to each there own but I personaly don't see it as nicer by the speacs. The only thing it has going for it imo is the dual core and honestly it's just not that big a deal to me really. My Esteem is fast enough for me. Will I get it sooner or later? Probabably, but by then another dual core "next best thing" will be out.

For me I think it's silly to try and keep up with technology at this point, shelling out $300 every three to six months is stupid in my opinion. Like I said to each their own.

^^ This.

the only thing going for the Connect is the dual core, outside of that it has less features then the Esteem, it does have in its favor a strong chance of getting a ICS update. Given the smaller display, no hdmi, and what not Im going to still get an Esteem which this should help drop its price point some more :)

The Connect has dual-core, 1GB ram and the NOVA display. That is three things it has over the Esteem. And I doubt most people would miss the .3" they lose in screen space.

True indeed, plus I'm a gadget head so it's a must that I get the connect 4g

i have the esteem and i think i will wait until towards the end of this year when the VoLTE phones come out on metro, those i can almost guarantee will also run ICS, the esteem runs like a champ as is the whole dual core thing i'll wait back on instead of blowing another 300-400 bucks

The esteem is potentially capable to run VoLTE. :)

I'm highly interested in the LG Connect (but also the Samsung Attain 4G), but will probably wait for another year or so. My wife and I bought the LG Optimus M a year ago (I know, it's out of date and not 4G, but it's still a good phone and they are rooted running CM-7), so this year we are just paying for the service (we pay ahead for a full year out of our tax refund that way we don't have to worry about it during the year). Next year, who knows what Metro will have for 4G LTE Android phones. If either of these are still available, and the new ones are still too expensive, maybe we'll go with one of them.
