I took my metro Esteem to cricket, they flashed it, now it won't support picture text or mobile internet, they handed my phone back with the new cricket number, text and talk only and said it could not be corrected. Is this a fact?

Well, in a way they can't do anything about your data not working. They should've told you that before they flashed it. There is however a way to force the correct apns into the phone to make data work (1x) only though, u won't get 4g. I did this to an OG Droid when it was flashed to metro and data works on it. I don't know if the esteem as is supports IP tables which was kind of required to push apns. You got a lot of researching to do, you gotta find out crickets apns, your phones subsidy which acts as the password for web if I'm not mistaken. Google "whiterabbit.org"

Why would you go to Cricket over Metro?

Your prolly not going to get everything working. They should have told you this before flashing.

Metro says the same thing about phones they flash, but with apps like QPST you can put the proper settings in and everything will work.

4g wont as Cricket doesnt have 4g and you cant change out the uiic card in the esteem even if they did ;)

What about the picture messaging?

Still don't see why you would flash this phone to Cricket unless you have no choice but to have Cricket. But I would just go with a different carrier and get a free phone for signing up if that was the case.
