Root LG Esteem Optimizer not compatible with my device??

Android Enthusiast
ive already purchased this but uninstalled it for whatever reason (idr) and i was going to reinstall it just now but it says my device inst compatible with this... wtf??

What rom are you on? Its probably because the LCD density was changed in the build prop. Just change it back to 240 and reboot then download and install it

It checks build.prop for the same make and model as the stock build.prop

Some people that make roms accidently/unknowingly change this field to say things like MS910-MyRoMName or something like that because they don't know the consequences.

This directly affects what apps you can even download from the market sometimes because some apps have a filter that they are only allowed to be installed on particular devices.

Here's the correct default values for your build.prop:
Code:
ro.product.model=LG-MS910
ro.product.name=lge_bryce
ro.product.device=MS910
ro.product.brand=MetroPCS

It was put there by me as a test for the right device, as other devices could malfunction if some things are different and some people do download my app for different devices on ocassion. It's better than getting a negative comment because some people just zip by and don't read the description of the app, that way if they need a refund they can do so within the 15 mins google gives them. It's more of a courtesy. :p

The lcd density won't affect anything :)

+1 that's the problem I had.....

LOL i cleared data and went into market, searched lg esteem, and hit install really fast and as it was already installing now it says "your device isnt compatible with this item" lol got it downloaded but i wonder why its still saying that

^^This

It does with the market. For some reason if you change it, apps that usually are compatible will say they arent compatible when you try to download from the market

That also makes sense, as some apps can be filtered out by the market based on density. If I made a game that looks right only at 240 for example, i can limit distribution to only those phones because it won't look right otherwise, that way you don't get nasty emails and comments lol ;) the problem is we trick the system and blame it when it works correctly hehe
