Root LG Esteem - ROM Troubles

The Proper Way To Do It Is To...

1. Wipe Date/Factory Reset
2. Wipe Cache Partition
3. Go Into The Advance Menu Of CWM & Wipe Dalvik Cache
4. THEN Install The ROM.

Now You WILL Have Problems With Android Market At First So On First Boot Let Me Know When You Are All DOne Booting Up So I Can Let You Know How To Fix That Problem That WILL Be There.
 
Okay, You Can Go Ahead And Enter Your E-Mail Into The Accounts And Android Market And Sync And All But After That...

1. Go To Rom Toolbox(App)
2. Scroll To The Right One Time To The "Performance" Tab
3. Click On "build.prop Tweaks"
4. Change "LCD Density" To 240 And NOTHING Different!
5. Click The Home Button To Go To The Desktop Of The Phone.
6. Go To Settings -> Applications -> All
7. Scroll Down And Select Market.
8. Clear Cache(If Any)
9. Clear Data
10. Go Back To Settings -> Applications -> All
11. Select "Google Service Framework"
12. Clear Data
13. Reboot Phone By Holding Power Button And Selecting "Reboot".

This Will Fix The "Device Incompatible" Error You Would Get From The Market Not Allowing You To Download Apps Like Dolphin Browser Or FaceBook. Test To Make Sure This Worked Correctly By Downloading FaceBook. If It Lets You Download & Install It Has Worked. Then YOu May Uninstall If You Wish.
 
Only Go Back CWM And Wipe Data, Cache Partition and Dalvik Cache IF You Have Problems Running GSE With Everyday Use Like Sending Text Messages Or Making Calls. If It Is Running Fine Now Then You're Alright. Just Do What I Said Above And You Will Be Perfect. Let Me Know When You Are Complete So I Know You Are All Set. No Man... Or Woman... Left Behind! Ahh sorry to be a pain but one thing i tried to open facebook (it downloaded all good) but when i try to open it , it force closes every time.

good to see you up and running. With face book go to settings, applications, manage apps, all tab on top, facebook app, clear data, uninstall, then reinstall. If that doesnt work just reboot and try and reinstall facebook

EDIT: Before you start downloading and going crazy with things make sure to make another backup
 
Okay, Go To Settings-> Applications -> Downloaded and Clear Cache First, Then Data For FaceBook. THEN, Go Ahead And Reboot The Phone One More Time Using The Power Button Method(It's There So Might As Well Use It Instead Of Turning It Off And Staring At It Until It's Ready For You TO Turn It Back On LoL). Try To Open It Again After That.

I Wish That For GSE 1.5, They Posted The Fix For Not Being Able To Update Android Market, Missing Market Apps, And Incompatible Device Errors... Well, I Guess You Can't Post What Is Not Known At The Time LoL. This Is A Problem To Everyone I Know That Has Installed GSE 1.5 So Far Though So It Seems To Be A Consistent Problem. Fix Also Works Every Time Too, So If Any Of You Upgrade To GSE 1.5 Then You Know Where I Posted The Fix To. LoL

I made a thread to fix this permently and being able to download anything that you want. There are two routes you can go. I personally recommend just download the app called lcd density modder pro/free. Heres my write up

Yes, I Also Recommend Wiping Data & Cache For Those 2 Applications Due To The Fact That The Error Can Get Stuck In The Markets Cache and Cause Issues Even Trying Later. Will Not Always Happen. A Lot Of The Time You Don't Need To But Sometimes You Do And That Why I Advise Everyone To Because If They Do It Without Needing To It Won't Hurt Anything. I Had No Idea This Was Already Posted Though, Sorry... Would've Given You Credit For It If I Knew.

Its all good. I wasn't trying to take credit, I just wanted people to know that there are alternatives and I have the best luck with the app thats mentioned. We're all on the same side and as long as we are all trying to help, thats all I care about.
 
Wow. Lol looks I came too late. Once again nice work guys!!!!! Lol we should form a HELPING crew.

Btw Monica , you could also install kernels, tweaks, themes, and mods with the same procedures you did by installing the ROM.
