Help LG Esteem Root

B, is this a prl installer or .apk? How does this work, I'm at work atm and websense blocks mediafire.

Thanks.

QPST doesn't seem to work with the Esteem. The software doesn't recognized the phone fully. It can read my phone number but not the model of the phone, so then it gives an error.

U need lgpst qpst is only for phones with qualcomm "radio's. I'm pretty sure its lgpst ill double check.

I know this is a silly question. What do I do with the file 3023.prl from mediafire?

Do I install it into a specific directory. Folder (prl)? or do I need special install to direct the file?

Any help would be great on this.

Thanks.

You need to get the program that is for your phone which im pretty sure is lgpst since everyone in this thread says qpst doesnt work. They are both programming tools. there are guides around here to explain how to do it. Basically what your doing is forcing the prl onto your phone since you cannot get those specific roaming list from metro OTA.

Fantastic! Thank you for the heads up.

Also, has anyone actually attempted this? If so, does it actually work. If you're not convered by 4G will 3G show (until the FOTA I still get no 1x) So if i'm not in 4G then I get no data :(

How long is the process? Mine says daemon started successfully... But that's it.

Make sure you have debugging on. If there is a bug in the notification you are ok if not then pull down notification and click on the usb and select internet connection. Also make sure you have debugging checked in the settings

All of this happens in like a second, I don't have root tools in my phone, I don't have SuperUser.apk, and root explorer still not able to delete bloatware. For these reasons I'm guessing I'm not rooted.

Does anyone know what I can do?

Try another USB cable. That happened to me.

Make sure you have installed the latest drivers for LGAndroid devices (LG Esteem(MS910) - OneClickRoot)

Also, follow the steps clearly on the link above.

put your phone into USB Debuggin Mode first!
When you connect your phone (after you installed the LG drivers also provided on the link above) wait a about 10-15secs. You'll see in the notification bar the USB icon. Scroll down the Notification bar and select the USB option and select 'Internet Connection' wait and windows might install more drivers from the phone. Wait till that is complete.

Then click on run.bat! and bam! You're rooted!

It took about 45secs to complete!

Hope this helps!

I'm getting the same thing as some others. Running the bat it says "gained root, success" but then I don't have root permissions. I changed USB cables and still haven't had any luck.

I checked to see, and I am running the new update prior to the rooting.

Any ideas?
