Help LG Esteem Root

I'm getting the same thing as some others. Running the bat it says "gained root, success" but then I don't have root permissions. I changed USB cables and still haven't had any luck.

I checked to see, and I am running the new update prior to the rooting.

Any ideas?

You can check and see if the update is blocking it by doing a hard reset on the phone and then trying to root it again. Hold volume up+down while turning on the phone and you should get the menu to do this.

I don't think that update has nothing to do with it.i updated first ,then I used that one click root with no problems.are you using correct drivers ,I used win 64 drivers with no problem, even after the update first.

also make sure usb debugging is check and make sure on you pull down notification bar at the top of the phones screen and click on USB Connected.
Set the phone to Internet Connection mode.

My phone was rooted prior to the FOTA update.

After the FOTA i turn on debugging, make sure the USB is connected in Debugging mode, it can see the phone it pushes everything and even reboots the phone and states that the device was rooted but i dont have root access.

I might try to to a factory reset on my device on my next day off where i can dink with it more. but since the FOTA did not put back all the bloatware Its not a critical thing to get root back.

On my next day off i may factory restore the phone and see if that works. Looking that other posts alot pf people are having the same issue if they are rooted and then get the FOTA update pushed to the phone.

******Update
I hard reset my phone. I rerooted the phone and still was not able to get root access back

i rooted my device after the update with no problems, strange i know...

I did mine last night too. No problems with the update. I suspect he is not changing the USB mode to Internet Connection, doing do enables some more interfaces.

sounds like there might be a driver issues with some people's pc.:(

Only if they didn't install the right drivers. These should do the trick, works with both 32bit and 64bit versions of Windows.

I tried those drivers and they were not the correct ones for the Esteem. Device manager showed that it was unable to locate the drivers for the device.
I went to LG site and re-downloaded and reinstalled the drivers and still unable to re-root my phone.

Install the Mobile Support Tool from the link below and it will install the correct drivers.
