As a former HTC Desire HD user, I can attest to this: HTC promised ICS, then later reneged. Lotta people were right pissed off. It's probably a company policy to not comment on future plans. Nothing angers customers more than making a promise and then breaking it.

Rumor has it that the skin will get an overhaul.
what is the big deal about being on 4.4, I am just curious. If it runs smooth and awesome on 4.2.2, then what is the big deal to be on the latest and greatest. I was/am personally happy with the performance on 4.2.2, and to me 4.4 is not that big of a difference.
On that note, I am curious to see what will actually change with 4.4, since it already has the LG skin.

You can check out the LG FLEX video on Google. I think that's pretty much it.
If they're re-designing the UI, I hope they make it more flat. I like the metallic themes from the Music & Voice Recorder apps but i'd like it if they made the phone, calendar and other apps more in line with the Holo design.

Honestly i just hope that if they do update they don't end up screwing up the phone. Every time i have updated in the past it either slows down the phone or causes battery drains. I really don't want that if all it is going to do is being minor additions.
This phone is so fast and smooth. I don't want to fix what is not broken.
TRIM isn't a minor thing.
Your mileage may vary.
Kernels with -discard mount are not affected by it and some Jellybean devices already trim.
Will it improve the G2?
:dontknow:
Yes. TRIM came out in android 4.3 for the Nexus devices and the story breaking at AnandTech was the first time most people had ever heard of fstrim.
