Root LG Optimus M

Gmaz

Lurker
So, I've noticed the lack of content available for Metro PCS's LG Optimus M (LG MS690). I managed to root my phone with the z4 root app and its running just fine. I'm pretty satisfied with what the phone is running on (Froyo) but I'm desperate in installing a Gingerbread ROM on it. I've searched extensively and can't seem to find it. Either way, my phone isnt listed in ROM Managers phone list. Would it even be possible to install the ROM at all?? If anyone else has had luck with this please let me know; any sort of help would be appreciated. :D

Welcome to the forums, Gmaz.

As I google "lg optimus m gingerbread rom" I come up with a bit of speculation posts about it, but as you say, no ROM. ;)

I do see it for the Optimus One, and that makes me think that the M users will be seeing a gingerbread ROM coming along sometime soon.

Just check around on a daily basis, hang in there. :)

Yeah we need good apps and Roms to use on the Optimus M. BTW what is the stock cpu speed on the Optimus M and how much can it be reasonably over clocked?

really need help if possible... Rooted Optimus T. was following JoeMomRom flash and reboot procedure on Android Central and missed the stock recovery info before attempting to reboot new ROM. now stuck on Fastboot screen. Computer sees device as "android". Cannot obtain $ or #. Tried the suggestions from earlier post. I can get the phone to reboot using CMD prompt . But, still says Fastboot mode started udc_start() and reads out"stall get-descriptor 128 6 3840 0 5". 3 times when plugged in to usb back of computer windows 7 64bit. Please help.

Stock is 600MHz. I have mine OCed @ 768MHz. Anything higher seems to freeze my phone.

Yeah i'm on the same page with andyo70, mines running at the same smoothly. Just to bad no way to "fool" the stupid adobe flash into thinking our processor is above ARM6.
