Help LG Optimus refuses to do anything useful.

Hi, so I'm just going to start this from when things started getting bad a couple weeks ago.

-About 3 weeks ago, I started having problems with my charger. Every once in awhile, it wouldn't recognize the charger was in, so I just unplugged it and put it back in. Easy. Then, a couple days later, it didn't recognize the charger was in there at all. No response. I ended up switching between my computer and the wall thingy from my Dad's Iphone.

-About a week ago, my phone started running REALLY slow. Things might stop working, more apps failed and I had to reopen them... everything.

-Last night, I was using Youtube, and in a fraction of a second, the screen went from Stairway to Heaven sheet music to black nothingness. I tried to take out the battery for about an hour, my Dad suggested it overheated. Tried putting it back in, nothing worked. Charger didn't work, either. I left the battery out all night, then tried putting it in again this morning. Still completely unresponsive.

I just don't know what's happening or what I'm supposed to do, and I need this phone because I have plans this week that require it. Thanks.

Could be a combination of two things. The battery is bad, and your USB cable or wall adapter is bad. Worse case scenario your charging port on the phone is bad.

To cure the slow unresponsive OS you can also try pulling the battery and holding the power button for 30 sec. or doing a factory reset. This should only be attempted with a know good fully charged battery.
