Root LG Spectrum first rom

***DO NOT INSTALL THIS ON LG CONNECT***
First this also installs a kernel that is not designed to work with the Connect
Well Since I had to send my phone back because of overheat I gave this a try and guess what bricked the phone, now my phone is bricked and doesn't boot up no LG Logo even. After Soft brick recovery didnt help me :/.
At least people are safe and know that installing this is a bad idea.
so only flash a rom that is known to be working with the LG Connect and not the Spectrum, even thought they are similar.

But is their a way to convert this over to connect?

do not install this this is not for this phone and it will brick you here is why
1) at this time there is no kernel source, ergo i know you are lying when you say the kernel is compiled from source.
2) there is no CIQ on metro, period
3) "Newest Swype Beta" last i heard is considered warez on these forums
4) seriously, it is a known bricking zip. REMOVE THE DAMN LINK! stop trying to figur eout what caused it, cuz i promise you if you actually could compile a kernel from source you would realize that the spectrum and the connect have a crapload of kernel changes due to screen changes and hardware differences.
P.S ZV4 isnt the newest, ZV8 is what this phone ships with, ZV9 is the update, just food for thought

As far as Swype goes, I do believe Shabbypenguin is quite correct--they do not want their app redistributed in any way except directly from their approved distribution channels (Market, their website, etc.).
I do know of devs that have developed ROMs and such for phones they do not actually possess, but in those cases, those devs have beta testers that have agreed ahead of time to test-out said ROMs before making it publicly available.
Perhaps a more strongly-worded, higher-profile, warning up-front in the future is in order for ROMs that are untested or that you would like a beta tester for one (with all due cautions, etc.) before publishing a public link to an un-tested ROM?
Root-related activities and actions imply and assume responsibility from both the developer and the user to take every reasonable precaution so that undesirable results do not occur. These precautions for the consumer include vetting the dev and their prior work, examining the quality and completeness of the products and the instructions, and carefully following the instructions provided.
Caveat emptor.

Lol I knew this could happened but I already had a warranty coming anyhow, the phone was overheating too much , and well I'll have my replacement on Tuesday currently I am using my tablet with groove so I'm still contact,
