Root lg updater tool killed my phone!

I was updating to ZVD and there was an error and I was prompted to unplug the data cable and then remove my battery and then to try to update again and my phone just died. It will not turn on again even when I plug it into the charger. I don't know what to do :'(

Does your computer read the phone at all? Does it make the sound like the phone is plugged?

Not a good sign
If the phone showed any life we could revive it.
At this point just leave it plugged in and after an hour or so see if will "awake".
Hoping your battery is just dead.

Its been a bit over an hour of it being plugged in actually :/ I'm screwed. Just my luck I swear. Of course this didn't happen when rooting or flashing stuff but it happened with the LG updater tool

Have never heard of it asking to be unplugged while in process. If your battery was too low it wouldn't even let you begin. Try to get a different battery to put in it. Don't know if it will matter but worth a try:thumbup:

I don't think a new battery would help :/ omg this sucks!!!! I haven't even had this phone for a long time. I called LG and they told me to mail it in without a sim card, SD card, battery, or battery cover. As long as it stays dead, do you think they will discover that I rooted it??

Can you try a different battery? I had a battery all of a sudden just die on me. There was juice still in it but it just died. I switched out my battery and the phone booted up normal. I have no idea what happened to that battery but I threw it out.

I don't know if this is the problem but its worth a shot. Find and try another battery before you do anything just to make sure.

Its a stock battery but I don't know why the battery would be damaged by a bad update

I dont think the update killed your battery. It probably may have been the usb perhaps? maybe something shorted it out. Try changing your battery because these android phones are kinda tricky sometimes.

PERSONALLY I'd be thankful to have multiple options that could POTENTIALLY fix my phone that I would jump at the chance to try instead of having a dead phone.......but I guess that's just me.

That's a guaranteed way to screw your phone up.............so I don't know why it would ask that? Something doesn't sound right or something is off somewhere BUT if you unplugged your phone before it finished updating then more than likely it's messed up and NOT the battery.

I've already called LG and they gave me shipping info and everything so I might as well hand it over. If they can't do anything then I will get another battery.. I understand being frustrated and It sucks Im sure. If LG will replace it then your best bet is to send it over. I was only implying to try another battery because a lot of people with this phone have more than battery making it easier.

But if LG can't get the phone on than obviously they wont see that it's rooted so they should replace it. How long that will take, IDK. Hopefully not long. Good luck.

Once we do get it plugged into the computer and being recognized by LGNPST it week pop up with a screen of download is in progress and thats IT. The device will not charge in thus state and the battery is dead thus making it too where you cannot turn it on because of these 2 factors. I an disappointed in fuzzy because he did not know this LoL (jk fuzzy). Let me know when you want to fix thus and i will have NO problems.

Yesterday I updated my old optimus m to 2.2.2 using the lg update tool and it fail at 90 percent done then told me to remove battery and hit restart on the update and it finished were it left off, he should probly try the wall charger or borrow someones battery so he can finish the process.

Well there is no problem here except needing to get his phone to be turned on by the computer and to be recognized as three eastern and finish the update or to use LGNPST. And yes,, when in emergency mode the device will not charge because lg doesn't want us playing around when it is in download mode and messing anything up worse lol little du dey no we is suhmartur dan dem HaHa... Give me a second, i have a long part for him when he arrives at these replies.

Can you please help? I'm stuck on the "11. Plug your Esteem into the computer and "expand and diminish" (to the right of no port connected) so that it recognizes your Esteem. " step. Nothing is happening and the esteem is still off
