Root LG Volt Stock ZV5 Rooted Rom - Odex & Deodex

It's not random. That's the work of Connections Optimizer due to having detected an open network and assuming that you would want to be on WiFi. Turn off Connections Optimizer.

Like he said, this is the stock software. He didn't create any of it and has no control over it. This is exactly what is installed on your phone with the zv5 update. All he did was add root and busybox and deodex the ROM. Any operational complaints should be directed to LG.
Thanks so much I always wondered what that dumb seetting did. Thanks for clarifying appreciate it. Also When you say busybox is installed to the ROM does thta mean I don't have to install it from the play store?

No you can turn it off in the settings
Well that sucks out loud. :(

On mine, it's Mobile data, Automatic connections, and then just uncheck the box. :(

No idea why they didn't give you that, but it's why we root, isn't it?

It's not their phone!

EDIT -

Never mind, I'm blind.

I thought you said can't. :p

We have that, although it's actually titled Connections Optimizer. I did something that broke it on my phone, so I uninstalled it, which is unfortunate since it also stores public WiFi connection settings so it can automatically log in.

Ahhh damn I lost root. Anyway to get it back? Here's what i did: Did towel root in zv3, super su, flashify, I used cwm with flashify and the zv5 rom file from here, then flashed radio in cwm too. But I lost root. I asked cwm to fix the root when exiting. Is that why? Anyway, is there anyway to fix without starting all the way over? Was really syked about this, but fudged up first one then lost all data and had to use lg flash tool. Now second time I got it going but lost root. Thanks so far for all the work put it, I've been waiting forever for something like this!

You could try towelroot in this instance.

Just grab the SuperSu recovery installation zip by Chainfire from here...

http://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip

Flash it in recovery and it should fix root without having to reflash ROM. If recovery prompts to fix su when you go to reboot, select no.

Ahhh! Yes, this worked, thanks so much. Ran the multi tool from flashify to get into cwm, and then I ran the zip from SD card in cwm. Then downloaded supersu app and all works! Thanks again.

Hello again kwknott. I was just wondering what changes (if any) you made to the new "ZV5 Full Odexed Rooted" ROM you posted up last week. Could you please let me know? Thanks in advance! I also wanted to mention that I'm dumbfounded as to making regular voicemail notifications work after deleting the Visual Voicemail app. It works perfectly fine on my girl's rooted LG Realm with no issues after I remove it with Titanium Backup. All notifications come in normally and can be cleared easily when I dial "1" and listen to them via regular voicemail. I can't seem to get it to work on the Volt. Thanks again for all your time and efforts on the LG Volt!

The ROM is 100% stock except for adding root and busybox.

I don't think this phone supports standard voicemail notifications. Not sure what it would take or if it's possible to enable fhem.

Thank you sir! Somehow I still believe it should support it. I'm thinking it has to do with a combination of how Boost Mobile's account settings are done by the customer service reps, the activation of the device, and the order in which I delete the Mobile ID app. I noticed that it will not dial 611 after I delete Boost Mobile wares. Thanks again!

edit- flashed the odexed zv5 and now i AM rooted. thank baby jesus but I am aiming for the deodexed build. Any ideas boys?

That's strange, the odexed ROM should be rooted just like the odexed one. I'll check it out and see what's going on.

I had that problem too, but not the first time I flashed it, only after flashing CM12 and going back to it did I encounter this problem.

Tried deodexed again and still said it didn't have root. Back to odexed but don't have 4g anymore and can't seem to find a fix anywhere? Has anyone seen a fix or know of?

I just installed this rom and im having trouble with supersu. Root checker says im rooted, but supersu wont update binaries and i cannot grant root acces. How do i fix this??

Also, Bg4m3r, i thought this rom had camera issues like a lot of the others :p
