Root Liberty v2.0 Lockscreen Help

SOCOM-HERO

Well-Known Member
Need a new ROM to run. I am currently on STOCK .602, rooted. That is with LauncherPro...I know its old, but what else is there?!

I really need something faster and more stable, but most of all STABLE. My favs of the past are MIUI and ASOP modded roms, but I have heard that there will be no ICS for the DX and that really makes me mad. I cannot do a hardware upgrade for some many months ahead, so I am stuck with my DX (which has no working headphone jack anymore...not my fault, it just stopped working) so I am not to happy with it anymore.

Suggestions and LINKS to downloads or threads that contain links to downloads will get thanks!

SEE POST #14 Please

And THANKS!

Liberty3 v2.0...and ditch LP. It was never updated for Gingerbread and can be glitchy. Try Go Launcher.

Wait, what? There is ICS for the DX, but the other thread I just posted in says their isn't? I'm confused now:confused:

there is a beta out right now, but its hardly in working condition, but you can try it if you wish. just know its beta. and its not true ICS, just overlays.

Oh, that's not what I am looking for then. I'll go with an ASOP build, like liberty or something that DrewGaren has.

drewgaren is still making roms based off of others peoples work?

odd...

i would go for the ROMS that are on the ROM/THEME list if i were you... just saying

My suggestion is Liberty v3 2.0...

Edit: and I still use LauncherPro lol...it runs great on my phone lol

Are you talking about ICX or FirstencounterICS? ICX is all but dead in the water but FirstencounterICS is still being worked on though it has been a while since the last update. Just going off of their respective threads at Rootzwiki, the latter rom is much more functional for a good taste of ICS. A quick rundown on what works and what doesn't for FE ICS straight from the op,

What works:
Radio (including 3G, calls, SMS) Speakerphone
MMS
Bluetooth
GPS
Data usage monitor
2D (hardware accelerated!) & 3D (kinda buggy)
Wifi
Sensors (including rotation/accelerometer)
Audio DSP Manager
Google Talk
SD Card
All hardware buttons
Charging USB (using the USB Mass Storage app) It's fast!

What doesn't:
Camera
Voice Input (excluding calls)
HDMI
FM Radio

I'm definitely not saying it's perfect but, along with the onscreen button mod, I can't pull myself away from it. If it wasn't for the darn convenient onscreen buttons, I would have moved on to another rom by now. I can theme my way to get the look of ICS but I've become tragically addicted to those buttons.

Someday I'll flash again. I am beginning to miss my camera.

Downloading Liberty v3 2.0 now. I hope I can remember how to flash a new rom. ummmm, I'll report back if I have issues.

TOTAL SUCCESS! Nice and smooth, now to go and grab titanium backup and reinstall my apps. Very easy process, wish I had done it sooner.

Thanks guys!

Oddly enough, everything works fine, but my phone skips the lockscreen now when I hit the power button. It just goes straight into the main screen. I want a lock screen...why is this happening?

I asked that poorly...

I had the lockscreen set to "ring" with three apps set in the middle. Now, when I hit home or standby, the lock screen will briefly show for a split second, and then it jumps straight into the home screen. Its not the same as it was this morning...how did it change on its own?

I ran a fix permissions from clockwork and that changed nothing. Should I clear cache? I would really rather NOT have to install the rom again, because that would call for a data wipe if I understand correctly. I can't just install Liberty again w/o any wiping, right?

btw: I'm changing the name of this thread to "Liberty v2.0 Help"

you dont have to data wipe to reinstall the rom lol

try the cache, but sounds like you got a glitch that happens occasionally with these roms

Wiped cache to no avail. Can I reinstall liberty over liberty ... to put everything back in place file wise. This is so strange.

Reinstalled the ROM...no luck still. Where is the app that natively controls the lockscreen...I want to see what happens if I delete it and reinstall it. I might try a third party app, but I really don't know if that will work.

Were are the default settings for the lockscreen...the one in Liberty settings hasn't helped at all.

PS. I am using GoLauncher, could this be the problem? Is there something I could type in the terminal emulator to fix this?

I was able to replicate the lockscreen glitch last night. I was getting ready to go to sleep, and I decided to check out the power options. I noticed sleep mode, which is a new thing to me, so I plugged my phone in and selected sleep mode. The phone froze, and I started hitting buttons trying to unstick it. When that didn't work, I unplugged the charger to do a battery pull. As soon as I unplugged it, the screen turned off. I woke it up again and there was no lockscreen.

I was going to try to replicate it, get logcats, etc, but I feel terrible today, so maybe later.

Weird, this did post. I put copied this in another thread also

I wish I was able to disable my lock screen without an app. I find lock screens to be useless.

Thanks for the post, I saw that other thread and I am having the exact same issue and as I remember I too put my phone to sleep as a test to see if it would save battery at night. I think that the sleep function is the culprit here. I have tried a battery pull on sleep to see if that would reset the problem, but it didn't work.

I would really rather not have to SBF or wipe my data over a lockscreen issue, but if there is no other choice...meh
