Help Lightflow - cycle colors - how?

jkc120

Android Expert
I'm trying to setup Lightflow to do the following:

- blink red for gmail
- blink green for sms
- blink blue for mms
- blink purple for missed call

Those seem to work ok by themselves, but if I get more than one notification, it only shows the last one, despite my setting it to cycle.

Has anyone else noticed this? If anyone has theirs setup like this to cycle, can you share your config?

Thanks in advance folks!

At least sometimes, I do get multiple notifications but it blinks exactly 8 times with one color, then moves to the next and it also blinks 8 times before the cycle repeats. I searched every setting I can find. Nothing seems to relate and nothing is set to 8. So I'm thinking it may be an app limitation at the time of this writing. Would love to hear otherwise though.

The free version of LightFlow is limited to changing the color only once every 20 sec. If you pay for the app it will change it every 2.5sec.

I also spoke with the dev and he may add the ability to define your own rate at which it will change.

Where is the cycle setting? Cant find it.

I gave up on light flow. I liked the charge notification, but I didn't want it to handle sms, I wanted handcent to do it. The dev told me that handcent can't do the notification while using light flow and the Handcent dev won't make it work.
So I switched to go sms, it still wouldn't use the settings I wanted, so I uninstalled light flow.

There is no "cycle setting" free version will switch every 20 sec and paid version every 2.5 sec.

There is a setting for how frequently to cycle but not sure it that is available in the free version. The setting is in two places "Notification Method on Battery" and "Notification Method on Charge" both of these are under the "General Settings" (5th and 6th down)

Thanks! I think I'll purchase then :)

there was a bug in one of the updates, I had that issue, you can into each notification and manually adjust them. Uninstalling and re-installing "might" work I don't know.

It's in the settings of each individual notification. There's a place where you can tell it always on or whether to blink slow -> fast.

I tried setting it up to cycle fast with the colors solid which works. But what I want it to do is to cycle fast through all colors flashing them in turn, but if there's only one notification I want it to blink, too.

What I'm seeing with it set to cycle fast through them and also individual cycle is:

- red
- slow gap
- red
- slow gap
- green
- slow gap
- red
- immediately after red => green

I was hoping it would:

- red
- slow gap
- green
- slow gap
- red
....

Can't seem to get it to do that :(

It will only change color every 2.5 sec, regardless of blinking.

ok so i got it to blink but mine will blink like 2 green then 2 red then 2 yellow... would be nice if i could just go 1 of each and then repeat like JKC is asking

I would agree. Think you should submit it to the dev as a feature request.

The way it works now (as I understand it) it cannot be done.
