All of a sudden today, I can't link the apk's. Dalvik cache and lib files link, but I keep getting "error 22" when I try to link the apk. I tired "recreate mount script" to see if maybe that would help, and it told me my second partition wasn't mounted-except it is, because the other files link fine and all my apps/widgets work fine. There is plenty of room on my second partition(1.39gb in fact) and I tired rebooting with no success. Any ideas?
I have all three of these apps on my phone:
Link2SD
App2SD
Titanium Backup
It appears to me that there is some overlap of which program does what.
Should I keep them all or more specifically, how should I look at each one? I mean what role should each play?
I have Link2SD set to automatically link newly downloaded apps and that seems to work well but is that the same as moving them? Can an app you linked then get moved?
I first got turned on to Link2SD based on reading that it could link Maps (for example) to the uSD and save phone memory. I have that app linked but when I linked it I can't say I saw my phone's internal memory increase.
If an app is "linked" can it also be "moved to sd" as Link2 SD would suggest?
I'm just throwing these questions out there and hopefully more people other than myself can learn from any answers. Thanks!
I had to reflash doing a full wipe/format. Did you just update the rom your on
Hi all,
I love this tutorial, thanks so much!
I'm a total n00b, just rooted my LG Optimus V according to this website's handy instructions, then I installed Link2SD. It works great, again closely following the instructions and using MiniTool Part. Wizard.
It's been working great, I have 100+ apps with still tons of internal memory.
But the other day when downloading an app, I got an error when trying to link the file to SD: "create link.com.skyfire.browser: cannot create /data/sdtext2/(etc): read-only file system" This MIGHT have occurred after installing AVG Antivirus App (can't tell, maybe related, I've since removed it just in case).
Hmm, read-only file system. Turns out now I can't link anything using Link2SD now. So, question #1: Anyone know where I went wrong, and how to fix it?
On a related note, when first starting with Link2SD I didn't know what I was doing (I still don't!), and I had to reformat my SD card a few times. Each time it was a giant PITA relinking everything. I used Titanium Backup, but all it did was reinstall the apps, but with so many apps, then couldn't all fit in internal memory for me to move over. That is, it didn't install the apps to the SD card. And it didn't rebuild any links. So, question #2: Am I using Titanium Backup wrong?
Thanks for any and all tips for these two questions.
Best,
Oy.
So my phone sometimes randomly crashes and then when I try to reboot it gets stuck on the boot screen.. sometimes I can just keep taking out the battery and trying to reboot until it works again. This last time I downloaded a couple of apps and it crashed, and now it gets stuck on the boot screen and won't load at all unless I take the memory card out, and then everything is all screwed up cause I have link2sd, and I don't know what's wrong or how to fix it! Anyone here know what it could be? Like.. is it a link2sd thing, or maybe some reaction btw link2sd and my rom? Maybe my sd card is a POS? Any suggestions or information would be appreciated! Thank you
LG Optimus V
Rooted; Harmonia rom (1.3?)
SD card partitioned, both FAT32
almost everything linked w/ link2sd
If there is any other important information you need to know please ask!
The only things I can think of is faulty cards or faulty card reader on the phone. I've heard a few cases of faulty readers.
Create link fools the app into thinking it is installed in the internal memory, where as with Move to SD the app knows it's installed on the SD card. Two quick questions for this thread:
1) What is the difference between Create Link and Move to SD Card in the Actions list?
Not really, it's just a nice round number that will give you plenty of room. Feel free to experiment if you feel that number is too large.2) Why 2000 mb's? I have an 8GB card. Do I really need that much space on the second partition?
I noticed that Link2SD requires some sort of partition on the SD card. I didn't know how to do this, but I was in my Xionia Recovery CWMA 1.2518.4 earlier and noticed that it can partition the card. Is this the same sort of partition, and is that how I would create it?
thanks
I'm wondering the same thing. If it's that easy, I'll just go into my custom recovery and partition the card.
