Link2SD Question

Madshady

Newbie
I have a simple question about link2sd. While my phone is rooted with link2sd installed and working just fine.

I have basic question if I should remove the link before uninstalling any apps. I been doing it that way. I just wonder if it matters or not.

Doesn't matter. Link2SD takes out the links and data from the /data/sdext2 partition when uninstalling apps.

Don't want to hijack, but don't want to create a new thread either. Link2SD now offers a paid option now and it has a new extra item being moved with the paid app. Does anyone knows what that is and what it does? Thanks.

Buying it lets you move the 'data' files as well.

Which data? I thought the entire app is being moved with the free version, except for the cache.

Im not really sure but it does move more of the app. Im using the plus version of link2sd.

When I moved chrome to the SD. Then checked link2sd it says 106.75MB for chrome.

Previous versions of Link2SD would move the apk, dex, and library files but NOT the app's data files. Those would remain in internal storage.
The latest update now has an option to move the data files as well, but only in the "Plus" (i.e. paid) version, and to use this feature you must format the second partition as EXT. FAT cannot handle the data files.

So does the plus version leave anything in the internal memory? Also, if you were using the free version and upgraded to the Plus, is there anything additional you have to do?

While the free version is nice and helpful. I find the paid version of the application is worth buying.

I moved some of the applications like Chrome, drive, YouTube to the micro SD card.

Plus after moving some of the applications I installed myself. I got around 850 megs of internal storage left

If you do buy the Plus version of the application. You will have to relink each application to move the data.

I've noticed I saved a lot of memory with the free version, however, it still fills up quickly even if I don't install new apps. So I'm wondering if the Plus version helps with this.

I recommend the plus version. Its not much and the Dev definitely deserves it. How many of us have been using link2sd over the years. Yes the free version still does a good job, but the plus has some nice perks.

Plus allows for auto cache cleaning and does allow for additional data to link. As far as comment to relink I had no problems. Steps I used were.
1-Filter to show only linked apps
2-Then choose multi select
3-then choose create link.

This will add the additional linking to previously linked apps.

Hope this info helps.
